The Principality of Baudrix, a demesne of the Bovic Empire of the Natopian Nation, is located on the continent of Cibola. With a land area of XXXXXX square kilometers, Baudrix has a population of 56,702,050 as of the 1727 AN census. The demesne serves as the ancestral homeland of the Alexandrian people and was the center of the former Empire of the Alexandrians on the planet Micras. Paine City, named after the Natopian imperial dynasty House of Waffel-Paine, is the capital and largest city of Baudrix.

Baudrix is a constitutional monarchy within the Bovic Empire. The Empress of the Natopians is the head of state, represented by the Viceroy, a hereditary Prince of Baudrix, who performs ceremonial duties and acts as a link between the demesnial and imperial governments. The First Consul is the head of government and is usually the leader of the majority party or coalition in the Parliament of Baudrix. The unicameral Parliament, elected through proportional representation, is responsible for enacting laws and overseeing the government.

As a member of the Most Serene Union of Dos Gardenias, a demesne union promoting economic cooperation and cultural exchange, Baudrix works closely with other member states on trade, foreign policy, and cultural matters. The demesne has a diverse population, with Alexandrians constituting the majority, and Nats and Martino being widely spoken alongside the Alexandrian language. Alexandrian Nazarenism and Bovinism are the predominant religions.

Baudrix's economy is driven by a robust manufacturing sector, particularly in textiles, with the production of olive-drab denim coveralls supplied to the Western Natopian Demesnial Forces and sold in the civilian market on Cibola. Government

The government of Baudrix is a constitutional monarchy with a representative democracy, operating within the framework of the Bovic Empire of the Natopian Nation. As a demesne of Natopia, Baudrix recognizes the Empress of the Natopians as its head of state, while maintaining a significant degree of autonomy in its internal affairs.

Head of State

The Empress of the Natopians serves as the head of state of Baudrix, a role that is largely ceremonial. The Empress is represented in the demesne by the Viceroy of Baudrix, who holds the hereditary title of Prince of Baudrix. The Prince of Baudrix is responsible for performing ceremonial duties, such as opening sessions of the Parliament and signing bills into law, and acts as a link between the demesnial and imperial governments.

Executive Branch

The executive power in Baudrix is vested in the First Consul of the Demesne, who serves as the head of government. The First Consul is typically the leader of the majority party or coalition in the Parliament of Baudrix. The current First Consul is Georges Viscard of the Union Democratic Movement (UDM) party.

The First Consul is assisted by a Cabinet, which consists of Ministers responsible for various departments such as Finance, Education, Health, and Security. The Ministers are appointed by the First Consul and are usually members of the Parliament.

Legislative Branch

The legislative power in Baudrix is exercised by the Parliament of Baudrix, a unicameral legislature. The Parliament is composed of representatives elected by the citizens of Baudrix through a system of proportional representation. The primary functions of the Parliament include enacting laws, overseeing the government, and approving the demesnial budget.

Judiciary

Baudrix is a member of the Most Serene Union of Dos Gardenias, a demesne union that aims to promote economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and collective governance among its member states. As a part of this union, Baudrix collaborates with other demesnes on matters related to interdemesnial trade and common cultural initiatives.

Local Government

Baudrix is divided into several administrative regions, each governed by a Regional Council. The members of the Regional Councils are elected by the residents of their respective regions and are responsible for managing local affairs, such as urban planning, public transport, and environmental protection.

Economy

Has a notable number of textile manufacturers subsidised by the Western Natopian government for the bulk supply of olive-drab denim coveralls to the Western Natopian Demesnial Forces. Surplus production is routinely dumped into the civilian market on Cibola at below cost price.

The Honourable Company established a Residency in Ayreon's Bay after resolution of its Board of Directors on 8.IX.1685, as well as a branch of the Imperial & Emirati Bank of Alalehzamin and Constancia. After a subsequent meeting on 17.IX.1687, also at Aqaba, the Board of Directors redomiciled its Cibolan Directorate to Ayreon's Bay in the Waffel Plains, directing further that construction of flaktowers, a ziggurat, as well as a new airport and shipyard commence immediately, and that the Directorate shall begin operations thereat by 1688, with the Cibolan Directorate operating out of the Ayreon's Bay Residency office in the interim.

The province of Baudrix is a province of the Empire of the Alexandrians. It is bordered by the province of Valenciennes to its west and north, Stormark to the south and ocean to the east.

Baudrix, together with the province of Valenciennes, comprises what is commonly called “mainland Alexandria”. The capital of Baudrix is the city of Geneva, which is also the capital of the Empire.

Government

Baudrix is one of the three provinces of the Empire (others are Puerto Nuevo and Rio Grande) which lack an official provincial government. Baudrix does not have an appointed viceroy at the moment, but the official title of the viceroy is Grand Duke of Baudrix.

Efforts to form a provincial government have been made by residents like the Emperor and Jose Frias, but they have not come to fruition.
