The Most Serene Union of Dos Gardenias (MSU), generally known as "Dos Gardenias", is a Natopian union of demesnes, composed by the Free Florian State, Thalassa (demesne), New Alexandria, Istvanistan, St. Andre, and Neridia. Its component demesnes are spread over a great distance, covering territory in the Natopian home continent of Tapfer, all of the island of Istvanistan, and portions of Apollonia. The status of capital city of this expansive union is shared between the cities of Eadricton, home to the Prince of Dos Gardenias, and the administrative center of the demesne's government, and its legislative and judicial center at Dos Gardenias. Its largest city is Triegon, a major center of Alexandrian culture and history in Tapfer and the world.

Dos Gardenias was home to the largest concentration of Alexandrians until the establishment of Nouvelle Alexandrie. It is also home to the Neridian people. Due to the many different peoples that live within its borders, Dos Gardenias has the distinction of being the most populated demesne in Natopia.

While the demesne's substantial natural resources have long been the mainstay of its economy, sectors of the knowledge economy such as aerospace, defense, information and communication technologies, biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical industry also play leading roles. These many industries have all contributed to helping Dos Gardenias become an economically influential province within Natopia.

Etymology

The name Dos Gardenias comes from the Martino language, meaning two gardenias. This references the gardenia flower, a flowering plant that is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of many parts of Micras, including Tapfer. Gardenias are one of the flowers traditionally worn in the Alexandrian imperial court by men as boutonnière when in evening dress. It is customary for men to wear a gardenia in their buttonhole, and women to wear gardenias in their hair. The flower is ubiquitous in many parts of the demesne.

Dos Gardenias also references the administrative and judicial capital of the demesne, a city that was planned and developed by the demesnial government from 1665 AN to 1673 AN as part of a scheme to establish a demesnial government foothold in the Natopian home continent of Tapfer.
