Dar Al-Hoeriya (Place of Freedom) is a governorate of the Sultanate of Kurum Ash-Sharqia. It was established as a governorate of the Islamic Republic of New Batavia in 1695 AN and seceded after a referendum in 1699 AN.
The governorate's economy consists mainly of livestock and agriculture. Since independence the economy diversified and the service sector became more important.
Dar Al-Hoeriya was the main base of the South Corum Independence Party. This party resented the bureaucratic administration in Lucerne and had been demanding more autonomy and freedom of language. English is the majority language in Dar Al-Hoeriya.
