2026–27 Çakari Super League

The Çakari Super League is the highest division of men's professional association football in Çakaristan. The competition is organised by the Çakaristan Football Federation and forms the top tier of the national football league system. Founded in 2021 as the Çakari Football League, the competition was renamed the Çakari Super League in 2026 as part of a major restructuring of domestic football.

The league originally consisted of eight clubs. From the 2026–27 season, the competition expanded to 24 clubs, representing cities and regions throughout Çakaristan. The Çakari Super League retains the historical championships and records of the former top-tier Çakari Football League. The name Çakari Football League was subsequently adopted by the newly established second division.

History

Foundation

The original Çakari Football League was established in 2021 by the Çakaristan Football Federation. Before its creation, football in Çakaristan was primarily organised at an amateur level, without a national professional competition.

The inaugural 2021–22 season consisted of eight clubs. Keruliya Elephants FC became the first national champions.

Early champions

FC Manbai won consecutive championships in 2022–23 and 2023–24, becoming the first club to win two league titles.

Agra Sultans FC subsequently won the 2024–25 and 2025–26 championships, matching FC Manbai's record of two titles.

Rebranding and expansion

In 2026, the Çakari Football League was renamed the Çakari Super League. The restructuring expanded the highest division from eight to 24 clubs and established a new second division, which adopted the name Çakari Football League.

The expansion brought together previously established football clubs and newly founded professional teams from across Çakaristan. The incorporation of Rečnozemlja into Çakaristan also contributed to the league's expansion. FC Palanka, representing Palanka, and Niška Zvezda, based in Muciri (formerly Srbograd), joined the top division.

The rebranding did not create a new championship lineage. All five championships awarded between 2021 and 2026 remain part of the history of the Çakari Super League.

Competition format

Since the 2026–27 season, the Çakari Super League consists of 24 clubs competing in a double round-robin format. Each club plays 46 matches, facing every opponent once at home and once away. A complete season consists of 552 matches.

Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat. The club finishing first is crowned national champion. The competition forms the highest level of the Çakari football pyramid, above the Çakari Football League.

Individual awards

Since the 2026–27 season, the Çakari Super League has presented the Alperen Award to the league's Player of the Season.

The award recognises outstanding individual performances throughout the league campaign.
