Çakarabad United is a professional association football club based in Çakarabad, Çakaristan. Founded in 1691 AN, the club is one of the established football organisations in the country.
Nicknamed the Castle Lords, Çakarabad United operates both men's and women's senior football teams. The men's team competes in the Çakari Super League, the highest division of men's professional football in Çakaristan, while the women's team participates in the Çakari Women's Football League.
Both teams play their home matches at The Castle, a football stadium in Çakarabad with a capacity of 20,000 spectators.
The men's team is managed by Prem Patthar, while the women's team is coached by Leyla Başaran. The women's section includes Çakari internationals Melis Yıldız and Hana Azizi, both of whom were selected for the 2025 Tea Cup.
History
Çakarabad United was founded in 1691 AN as a football organisation representing the city of Çakarabad. The club gradually developed into an important part of the city's sporting life, attracting players and supporters from Çakarabad and surrounding communities.
Its home ground, The Castle, became closely associated with the identity of the club and inspired its nickname, the "Castle Lords". In its early years, Çakarabad United participated in local and regional football competitions before the development of a nationwide professional football system.
Following the establishment of the Çakari Football League in 2021, professional football in Çakaristan became increasingly organised at national level. Çakarabad United continued to develop its men's football section, strengthening its senior squad and establishing professional training arrangements. The club became one of the established organisations selected for the expansion of the national championship in 2026.
In 2024, Çakarabad United established a women's senior football section as part of the growing development of women's football throughout Çakaristan. The establishment of the women's team coincided with the foundation of the Çakaristan national women's football team and wider initiatives promoting women's participation in organised football.
The women's section developed its own playing squad and coaching staff while remaining part of the Çakarabad United football organisation. Forwards Melis Yıldız and Hana Azizi were selected for the Çakaristan national women's team ahead of the 2025 Tea Cup.
In 2026, the Çakaristan Football Federation introduced a major restructuring of the national football league system. The former top-tier Çakari Football League was renamed the Çakari Super League and expanded from eight to 24 clubs. Çakarabad United was admitted to the expanded competition for the 2026–27 season.
The club's women's section also became one of sixteen founding participants in the 2026–27 Çakari Women's Football League, the inaugural season of the national women's championship. The restructuring marked a new chapter in the history of Çakarabad United, with both senior teams participating in national professional competitions.
