The Çakari Football League is the second-highest division of men's professional association football in Çakaristan. Organised by the Çakaristan Football Federation, the competition forms the second tier of the national football league system, immediately below the Çakari Super League.

Established in 2026 as part of a major restructuring of Çakari football, the league comprises twenty clubs representing cities and regions throughout the country. It provides a national platform for developing professional football outside the top division and offers clubs the opportunity to compete for promotion to the Çakari Super League.

The competition adopted the name previously used by Çakaristan's highest football division between 2021 and 2026. The original competition was renamed the Çakari Super League, retaining its historical championships and records, while the newly established second division began its own competitive history with the 2026–27 season.

History

Establishment

Following the foundation of the original Çakari Football League in 2021, professional football in Çakaristan was initially organised around a single national division of eight clubs. As football developed throughout the country, the need for a broader professional structure became increasingly apparent. Çakaristan's geographical size, cultural diversity and large number of regional communities provided opportunities for the establishment of additional clubs and competitions.

In 2026, the Çakaristan Football Federation announced a comprehensive restructuring of the national football system. The existing top division was expanded to 24 clubs and renamed the Çakari Super League, while a new second division consisting of twenty clubs was established under the name Çakari Football League. Although the new competition inherited the former name of the top division, it was established as a separate competition and did not inherit the historical championship records of the previous league.

Regional representation

The establishment of the Çakari Football League significantly increased the geographical representation of professional football within Çakaristan. The inaugural competition included clubs from major cities such as Manbai, Aurangabad, Maulikpur and Kadim, alongside teams representing smaller cities and communities throughout the country.

The incorporation of Rečnozemlja into Çakaristan also contributed to the development of the competition. Three established clubs from the territory joined the new second division: FC Ravna from Ravna, FC Krava from Krava, and Seven Swords from Palanka. Several newly founded clubs were introduced, including Šer-Ku-Riž Akademik FK, Manbai Mariners FC, FC Amravana and Bakuya Racing Club. The league was intended to provide a competitive environment for established regional clubs, newly formed professional teams and clubs aspiring to reach the highest level of Çakari football.

Competition format

League structure

The Çakari Football League consists of twenty clubs. Each season is played as a double round-robin competition, with every club facing each other twice, once at home and once away. Each club therefore plays 38 league matches, resulting in a total of 380 matches during a complete season. Teams receive three points for a victory, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. The club finishing at the top of the league table is crowned Çakari Football League champion.

Promotion and relegation

The Çakari Football League forms the second tier of the national football pyramid, directly below the Çakari Super League. The competition provides a pathway for clubs to gain promotion to the top division. Promotion and relegation arrangements are governed by the Çakaristan Football Federation.
