Rečnozemlja, officially the Governorate of Rečnozemlja (Sirbian: Речноземља провинција), is a governorate of Çakaristan following the acceptance by the Çakar Empire of the terms of the Northern Coria Act and the transfer of the territory from the Order of the Holy Lakes. The transfer of the territory was a difficult process, but it was formalised in 1756 AN. The Çakari Congress debated at length the status of the territory, specifically whether it should become a separate state or part of the Kingdom of Bulqan. Ultimately, it became a separate state, a governorate.

Name

Over the years, the area has had various names, such as Northern Coria, Rekozemlje, North Coria, Nohavland and Srbozemlje. As the majority of the population consists of Sirbs, the former name "Rekozemlje" was translated into Sirbian and retained as a provisional name: Rečnozemlja (Sirbian: Речноземља). Which means: river lands.
