History
Leylpur Wanderers FC was established in 2023 by local football enthusiasts, students, merchants and former amateur players in Leylpur. The club was founded with the intention of creating a professional football organisation representing the city and surrounding communities. The name "Wanderers" reflected the founders' origins in several travelling amateur football teams that regularly played friendly matches throughout the Leyl region. The club adopted a sporting identity influenced by the riverside environment and commercial traditions of Leylpur.
During its first years, Leylpur Wanderers FC concentrated on organising a senior squad and developing local football facilities. The club initially participated in regional competitions and friendly matches.
Its early playing style emphasised attacking football, technical passing and the recruitment of promising young players. The club also established relationships with local schools and amateur football organisations.
The expansion of professional football throughout Çakaristan provided an opportunity for Leylpur Wanderers FC to participate in national competition. The club strengthened its administration and recruited experienced coaches and players. The development of Leylpur Riverside Stadium was an important part of the process. The stadium provided a suitable home venue for professional football and helped establish the club's identity within the city.
In 2026, the Çakaristan Football Federation announced a major restructuring of domestic football. The former top-tier Çakari Football League was renamed the Çakari Super League and expanded from eight to 24 participating clubs. Leylpur Wanderers FC was selected as one of the new participants. The 2026–27 season marked the club's first participation in the highest national football division.
