History
Al-Hamra Royal FC was established in 2023 by a group of local sports administrators, merchants and patrons associated with the Emirate of Barikalus. The club was founded with the intention of developing professional football in Al-Hamra and establishing a representative team for the emirate.
As the capital of Barikalus and the summer capital of the Çakari Empire, Al-Hamra possessed a distinctive cultural and political identity. The founders sought to reflect this heritage in the name and character of the new football club. The club adopted the name "Royal" to acknowledge its connections with the emirate's sporting patrons and the historical traditions of the city.
During its early years, Al-Hamra Royal FC participated in regional football competitions in Barikalus. The club attracted players from Al-Hamra and neighbouring communities, gradually developing a professional squad and youth development programme. Its growing popularity encouraged investment in training facilities and the construction of a new stadium.
In 2026, the Çakaristan Football Federation announced a major restructuring of the national football league system. The highest division, renamed the Çakari Super League, was expanded from eight to 24 clubs. Al-Hamra Royal FC was awarded a place in the expanded competition, becoming one of the representatives of Barikalus in national professional football. The 2026–27 season marked the club's first participation in the top national division.
