The national flag of Gerenia was adopted in 6 November 2012. The flag was chosen by the National Symbols Commission, a special group created by the Parliament. Blue and red symbolise the environment and nature (with a yellow circle representing the sun), and the spirit of the Gerenian People. White symbolises the peace that must rule between them. Inside the yellow circle the national coat of arms can be found.

Design

The national flag of Gerenia features three equal horizontal bands of blue (top), white, and red, with the national coat of arms located in the left side of the flag, within a yellow circle, centred in the white band.

The Feydoran flag

The first flag to represent the Gerenian Nation featured three equal horizontal bands of blue, white and sky blue, and it was first flown circa 1826. During the following 150 years, it have been utilised many variations of it, usually including the colour red (in stars or bands).

Current flag

Since February 2012, there have been a number of proposals to change the flag. In October, the government of Gerenia started a campaign to design a new flag. The Parliament soon assembled a commission (the National Symbols Commission), which presented their proposal in early November. The Parliament rapidly approved the change on the 6th. However, seven months late, the design was again altered to the current one.

The current flag of Gerenia maintains the national colours (blue, white and red).
