The Akbar Mahal is a marble mausoleum with a golden dome on the southbank of the Taw'am River in Agra. It was commissioned by Jaaguzan, when Jodha requested a tangible marker for the first ruler of Çakaristan. It was completed in 1712 AN.
The mausoleum's name is an amalgamation of the titular name "Akbar" and "Mahal" (Adarani: महल, Arboric: مَحَلّ, Babkhi: محل), meaning 'palace'.
Gardens have been laid out around the main building, the tomb. Those gardens are called paradise, after the ancient Babkhi word 'pālēz' (پالیز), meaning 'garden of the king'. The garden is walled and right in front of the tomb is a gatehouse. Between the tomb and the gatehouse is a pond.
Tomb
In the monument, Akbar is interred; there is also space for his wife, Jodha.
Tourism
Immediately after its opening, the monument attracted many visitors. During the state visit of the Sultan of Kurum Ash-Sharqia, the mausoleum was visited. A new district is being built around the complex. The Çakar Bhavan and other princely residences are being built nearby.
