The Community of Goldfield (the CG or the CoG) is an economic union of Raspur Pact member states with a shared commitment to greater economic integration and monetary coordination than what the current Shirerithian, Alexandrian, and Natopian Entente Treaty offers. The members of the Community of Goldfield have all agreed to use the Natopian natopo as either a principal reserve currency or as legal tender, and are deeply invested in maintaining close coordination among their central banks, economic agencies, and finance ministries. The member states view this deep integration as a path to economic stability, mitigating the volatility of global markets and enabling robust, shared growth.

Each member of the Community has recognized the potential benefits of adopting the Natopian natopo as its main trading currency and reserve currency. Ideas have been circulated for the designation of the Natopian natopo as a common currency for the Community of Goldfield, but these have not yet progressed or been generally accepted.

The main institutions of the Community are the Central Banks Coordination Council, the Finance and Economic Harmonization Council, the Community of Goldfield Development Bank, and the Foundation of the Community of Goldfield.

Member states have no additional legal obligations to one another, as they are all already connected through their common membership in the Raspur Pact. Their membership in the Pact has facilitated the establishment of many close cultural, economic, political, and historical ties between them. The member nations also have significant populations of one another's citizens and their descendants, with the Alexandrian, Ransenari, and Wechua diasporas among the largest.

Background

The idea to create some sort of community around the wider use of the Natopian natopo as the main Raspur Pact common currency did not rise until the aftermath of the Kalirion Fracture. After the loss of most of its territory in Benacia and the ensuing upheaval, Shireroth's currency, the Shirerithian erb, tanked. The Shirerithian erb was the most important currency in the Pact prior to the Kalirion Fracture, followed by the Natopian natopo. The crash of the erb led some nations in the Raspur Pact to turn to the safety of the stable Natopian natopo as the new main Raspur Pact reserve currency. During the following decades of change in Benacia, the idea of truly advancing the Natopian natopo slowly grew until it took shape following the Second Elwynnese Civil War, a transformative event that compelled the Kingdom of Ransenar to look "outwards" from Benacia and build closer ties with Natopia and Nouvelle Alexandrie.

Ransenar, rich in agricultural resources, found mutual economic benefits through its food exports to its new partners in Natopia and Alexandria. Simultaneously, a significant presence of Alexandrians in Natopia and Ransenar and the shared cultural and religious relationships between Natopia and Nouvelle Alexandrie (Bovinism, Melusinianism, Church of Alexandria) laid the groundwork for more intimate international relationships. These cultural and economic synergies extended to the sphere of policy, which led to greater cooperation in trade, intelligence, counterterrorism, and other areas serving to further unite the member states. This led in to the Community of Goldfield Protocols of 1705, which established the initial economic frameworks between Natopia, Ransenar, Nouvelle Alexandrie, Constancia and Normark and set up agreements to use the Natopian natopo as their principal reserve currency. The Protocols also established greater links between the fiscal institutions of the member nations, helping connect their payment systems and facilitate trade.

The Natopian natopo entered a serious crisis during its 1707 division into East and West. While both Western Natopia and Eastern Natopia retained the Natopian natopo and its central institutions, investors and business were concerned about the effects of the division. The ensuing recession of 1709, fueled by the division of the Natopian Empire, underscored to the nations in CoG the need to stabilize the Natopian natopo and further coordinate to mitigate the effects of the recession. With the desire for greater coordination and harmonization, the Charter of Lindström was signed by Natopia, Ransenar, Nouvelle Alexandrie, Constancia and Normark in 1710 AN, creating the current Community. With Ransenar later becoming part of the Benacian Union, the Benacian Union assumed Ransenar's membership in the CoG. The Suren Confederacy and Zeed joined the CoG in 1722 AN.

Greater coordination and harmonization of policies and positions within the Raspur Pact have been a key objective of the CoG. The Pact, which already provided a platform for ongoing cooperation in various areas including the military, economic, and health sectors, represented a natural framework within which the CG could pursue its goals. As such, the Community operates under the Economic Cooperation Subcommission of the Raspur Pact. Key bodies facilitating this collaboration include the Joint Military Council, the Economic Cooperation Subcommission, and the Health Emergency Subcommission.

In 1722 AN, the Community of Goldfield Development Bank was created to stimulate sustainable development and regional integration by financing projects in the public and private sectors in member states, providing technical cooperation, and other specialized services.

Charter of Lindström

Main article: Charter of Lindström

The Charter of Lindström represents the formal agreement that led to the constitution of the Community of Goldfield. It built upon the previous Goldfield Community Protocols of 1705 and has been the guiding framework of the Community since 1710 AN. The Charter sets forth the roles, responsibilities, and structures of the Community and its members, marking a key step towards the deep economic integration and coordination among member states that we see today.

Goldfield Aviation Alliance

Beginning in 1716 AN, and taking place under the aegis of the Trade and Commerce Harmonization Council, the Community initiated a concerted push to increase the proportion of total trade between member-states that would be carried by commercial aviation. With the threats of both the former-USSO and Bassarid piracy receding during the early eighteenth century after Norton the seasonal sailings of SATCo-controlled trade fleets could be supplemented by more timely movements of passengers and cargo by commercial aircraft. To this end, the Honourable Company was incentivised by member-states to offer loans on generous terms to airlines and logistics firms willing to countenance bulk purchases of the Javelin Sojourner airliner.
