Heraldry in Hurmu has a long history.
Armigers
Under Hurmu law and tradition, armigerous people and institutions are:
- The Order of the Holy Lakes (the national government uses the coat of arms of the Order)
- Members of the Order of the Holy Lakes
- States and districts of Hurmu
- Condominiums, the sovereignty of which are shared with Hurmu
Rules
- In general, only one individual may "own" the same coat of arms; differentiations in shape, etc, or with defacements are acceptable.
- Exceptions may be granted, such as Salome's use of the undifferentiated coat of arms of Hurmu
