It is a coalition government consisting of representatives of the Social and Democratic Party of Hurmu, the Communist Workers' Party, and the Hizb ul-ʿUmrāti ul-Hurmu. Moreover, the Senate of the Lakes has appointed, against the wishes of the Prime Minister, four secretaries of state as part of the Cabinet. The Cabinet ceased to function as a unitary body as a consequence of the 1719–1720 Hurmu civil conflict, where a number of the ministers, alongside a secretary of state, perished during the course of the fighting.
