The National Party, also referred to as the National Party of Craitland to distinguish from other similarly-named parties, is a right-wing political party in Craitland. Although one of the five major Craitish parties, having won seats in every general election, it is by far the least popular and has yet to garner more than 3% of the overall vote. It constituted the minor partner of a coalition government alongside the United Conservatives in 2014.
Ideology
The National Party are proponents of Craitish nationalism, and support a protectionist economic approach aiming to limit reliance on import. Since the creation of the Craitish Defence Force, the party has voiced encouragement for its enlargement and a willingness to expand past its defence-only utilisation. Its foreign policy is ambiguous, ranging from belligerence to total isolationism in prior expressions.
Logo
The party logo depicts the silhouette of a stag, the national animal of Craitland, in purple; the nation's recognised colour. Its campaign materials employ a heavy use of purple, and are most frequently produced only in Craitish.
