The engagement and wedding came as somewhat of a surprise to several observers, given the count's reputation of being somewhat of a playboy.

•  Normark: The Royal Family of Normark declined the invitation from the Count of Highpass that they attend, despite the urging of the Prime Minister that they attend the wedding. Fredrik Michael Tarjeisson preferred to remain with his palatine legion in Chryse, whilst King Tarjei Thorgilsson declared that he had no interest in travelling so far for such a slight occurrence. Instead, Prime Minister Arnold Christianssønn Einhorn and his wife attended.
