Sara Eskenderion Avon-El Ayreon-Kalirion, mostly known as Sara Avon-El, was an ElwynneseShirerithian-Hurmu noblewoman and matriarch of the Avon-El family. Princess among the Lakes from 1666 until her death, and honorary Dutchess of Kildare 1701–1707. Elder sister of Jeremiah Avon-El.

An eccentric lady, Sara Avon-El enjoys hosting parties but gets upset when she is not admired as much as she would like. She has never married, calling men uninteresting and women unable to further her dynasty, so all her hope in carrying on the Avon-El dynasty is through her brother Jeremiah with whom she has a complicated relationship. The trauma from their shared childhood of unloving and emotionally abusive parents has caused her to be deeply paranoid about people around her. In her household, she is notorious for being distrusting of her underlings. For example, she does all accounting and book-keeping of her estates herself – by hand on big sheets of paper so that no one can hack her accounts. She enjoys drawing maps of her estates, noting every time something new changes there. She keeps a census of all animals – livestock as well as wild animals – that graze or roam her lands.

In 1700, she came out as lesbian and announced that she has had a long-term relationship since 1645 with Aurelia Myksos, Dutchess of Kildare. Aurelia and Sara announced that they would marry in 1701, and that they hoped to adopt a child following that. The two married in a family event on 8.VIII.1701, her brother, having publicly denounced the late-life development as "ludicrous", was noticeably absent from the ceremony.

During their travels to Kezan, the married couple researched ways to bring about a shared biological child. Researchers there reprogrammed cells from each of the parents into becoming gametes, of which one was made an egg and the other a sperm. Following ex vitro fertilization, the egg was implanted into the 80-year old Sara. Following seven months gestation, on 2.II.1702, the fetus was extracted from her body through surgical means, and the child, deemed alive by the attending physicians, was given the name Marcus Eskender Avon-El Ayreon-Kalirion Myksos.

In 1707, Sara and her wife Aurelia departed Shireroth. They were offended with Shireroth's removal of Aurelia's title Dutchess of Kildare, especially offended with the decision to give the title to a Jing military leader. They felt that the Jing had destroyed all of Kildare. Moreover, the Jing were responsible for the death of Aurelia's first husband and their adopted daughter Amelia. As such, Aurelia and Sara, along with them Marcus, moved to Kingsrise, where they stayed until 1710, when they moved to Hurmu.

Five years later, she died in Huyenkula General Hospital from "old age", with her wife and child by her side. A week later, she was buried according to the rites of the Church of Elwynn (Archdiocese of Yaanek), in a ceremony led by Milo Enujohanenion, Sagart of Huyenkula, on the grounds of the Palace of the Elenaran.

Coat of arms

Coat of arms of Sara

Upon her father Eskender's death in 1666, Sara inherited his coat of arms as Prince among the Lakes.

The coat of arms traces its history back to 1529, when it was adopted by Rashid Shahanshah as his personal coat of arms in Hurmu as Prince among the Lakes. It is heavily based on the coat of arms of Babkha. As such, it features a circular shield in a Babkhan heraldic fashion, with two Euran lions as supporters, armed with swords.

The shield, with a golden bordure, itself is quartered, as follows:

  • Quarter I: The coat of arms of Babkha; on a black field, a golden lion and sun.
  • Quarter II: Something Ahura Mazda ish?
  • Quarter III: The coat of arms of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion; on a black field, the mountains of Yaanek, illuminated by the golden Star of Sathrati.
  • Quarter IV: The coat of arms of Nidaros (without the silver Nidaros rose); on a white field, with a red bordure and red bend sinister, a black stag (added in 1537 to symbolize Rashid's rule as King over Nidaros).

Upon the shield is escutcheoned a smaller circular shield, with a golden bordure, featuring the coat of arms of Hurmu.

Finally, the collar of the Order of the Holy Lakes hangs around the coat of arms.
