The Nokarodo Faction, or Nokarodo, which literally means Farmer and Labour Faction, is a left-wing, socialist political party in Jingdao. It was a legal political party that participated in the Imperial Yuan during the Xianfa Constitution, when Jingdao was a constitutional monarchy. After the adoption of the Chidao Constitution, the party disappeared from public life and many of its notable members were prosecuted by the Tegong. Today the party continues to operate, though membership of it is considered a capital crime in the empire. The party is an early member of the Micras Socialist International. Periods of resurgence, during the Post-Chidao Troubles and the Second Kildarian Revolution, were met by increasingly desperate counterstrokes by the Tegong, which finally went so far as to temporarily ally with the Humanist diaspora and condone the reintroduction of Shirerithian neofeudalism so as to once and for all eradicate the canker of egalitarianism from the Tianchaodao.
Political prisoners
As an underground resistance movement, the Nokarodo Faction tries to help political prisoners escape from the many forced labour camps where they have been sent. A high profile captive the Nokarodo Faction tries to release is Yamato Wei, who has been incarcerated since 1656. Yamato Wei was sent to a forced labour camp for his role in the Nivelle Mutiny during the War of Lost Brothers. With his release impending in a few years, fears have risen that he might be involved in a far-fetched accident in his prison.
