Tanah Baharu or Tanah Baru (Phineaner and Petrosian word for "New Land"), officially Tanah Baharu Special Administrative Territory (Phineaner: Wilayah Pentadbiran Khas Tanah Baharu; abbr. Tanah Baharu SAT, TB-SAT or TNBR-SAT), is a Phinbellan special administrative territory located in Southern Keltia. Tanah Baharu borders the Sea of Storms in the south, also borders the Nouvelle Alexandrie regions namely Valencia in the south, west and northwest, Santander in the north and Borinquen in the east. Tanah Baharu is located approximately more than 2,000 kilometers from Phinéas Padolski and approximately 5,000 kilometers from the capital of Phinbella, Negara Awan. The capital and largest city of this territory is Soekarnograd which is located on the southern coast of this territory. With an area of 793,084.41 square kilometers (306,211.60 sq mi) despite having a population of 4,981,082 people of various nationalities and including the Caria tribe, Tanah Baharu is the largest special administrative region in Phinbella, and it is larger than the territory of Tanah Tōnán'hyôrï. Among the other cities found in this territory are Labuan Alperen and Hastinapura.

Tanah Baharu was established as a state in Los Bay Petros with the name State of Tanah Baru, the state was divided into five counties, but the administration of Los Bay Petros over Tanah Baru only lasted for almost two years. After several years of not being administered until the Soekarnograd Uprisings, the Bassarid influence from Passio-Corum was accepted by the residents, and a dependency known as the Dependency of Tanah Baru was established in RP 2612. At first it administered Soekarnograd and its surroundings. Bassarid influence extended throughout Tanah Baru including to Juliusstraat in the north and Fort Carol in the west in RP 2615.

Etymology

The name of the territory, "Tanah Baru" is a term that comes from the Phineaner language itself, and the name of this territory is in Indokistani or Petrosian standard variety, while in Phinbellan standard variety, it is possible that the name of this territory is pronounced as "Tanah Baharu", where it became the official term for this territory in March RP 2619. The name of this territory literally means "new land" which means that the area in Southern Keltia has just been explored by the Petrosians and Pallisicans, and this area will also be explored by the Phinbellans. When this territory was administered by Petrosians, the name of this territory was called "Novaya Zemlya" which is a term in the Mishalanese language, which gives the same literally meaning. In Pallisican, Tanah Baru is often referred to as Tanah-Bäu.

History

Tanah Baru has a long history since RP 2607 as a state in Los Bay Petros and in RP 2612 as a Pallisican dependency.

Geography and environment

Tanah Baharu is located approximately 1,700 to 2,000 kilometers northeast of Phinéas Padolski, and approximately 5,000 kilometers southeast of Phinbellan capital, Negara Awan. Like Tanah Tōnán'hyôrï where this condominium territory is located in the northwest, Tanah Baru does not border the other Phinbellan territories. And like almost several Phinbellan territories in general, Tanah Baharu also borders the same neighboring country. Along the southern coast of this territory, it is surrounded by the Paventera Strait that separates Soekarnograd and Port Cardozo and also the Sea of Storms. Tanah Baru is one of the territories located between the equator. Tanah Baru is located at latitude 0°02' to 9°43'N and longitude 98°17' to 117°12' E. This territory as a whole has an area of 830,525.28 square kilometers (320,667.60 sq mi), it does not include the Southern Cherusken Highlands or the Kuala Tasar Highlands which majority is administered by the neighboring country. Of the total area of this territory, 793,084.41 square kilometers (306,211.60 sq mi) is land and 91,440.87 square kilometers (35,305.52 sq mi) is water.

Because it is located close to the equator, Tanah Baharu has a diverse geography, it is divided into six ecoregions which are the southern coastline, lowland rainforest and xeric shrublands in the center and southeast of this territory and highland rainforest which is mostly in the northeast and the minority in the northwest, and also a wetland area in the center.

Climate

In general, Tanah Baharu has two different climate areas, namely the climate in the south and the climate in the north.

The southern climate area of Tanah Baharu including its main cities, Soekarnograd and Labuan Alperen, has a tropical climate with high humidity and two seasons, namely the wet season that occurs from November to May and also the dry season that occurs from mid-May to October. The dry season usually occurs at the end and beginning of the year because the position is north of the equator, and usually the rainy season occurs. Rain in the dry season is rare. Between December and January is the coldest, usually the daily minimum temperature may be between 14°C to 22°C and the maximum temperature is between 29°C to 36°C.

The rainy season that occurs at the end of the year and the beginning of the year between December to February is associated with monsoon rains, tropical cyclones are rare. On average, the rainfall in the southern part of the territory is about 2,000 millimeters per year.

The central and northern climate areas of Tanah Baharu do not have desert areas, but instead have wetlands like in the southern areas, it also has xeric shrublands in general. The central and northern climate region that includes Hastinapura has a hot and semi-arid climate with little rain usually falling in the hottest months from May to November. Northern climates have dry summers and cold winters, making them different from southern climates. Frost is recorded several times a year. This northern region receives less than 275 millimeters of rain per year.
