In this election, each bailiwick formed one constituency. The number of seats per bailiwick was decided in proportion to that bailiwick's share of the total population. As such, Konungsheim Elieru ([[Elijah's Rest]]) elected 58 representatives, while seven bailiwicks elected 2 representatives each (Mjøs, Vidda, Skrubbebør, Drøndelag, Mellomhånd, Aderstein, and Høgmarken). All other bailiwicks existed in the range between 3 and 31 representatives.
There are 269 seats. A majority requires 135 seats.
Within each bailiwick, elections were proportional with a party-list system.

The 1681 Nordisketing election in Normark was held at the same time as legislative elections were held across other Elwynnese autonomous republics. This was the second Nordisketing election since Normark's accession to Elwynn (previously it was a Natopian autonomous kingdom).

In this election, the Ayreonist Independence Party, having been officially banned and dissolved by the Court of the Prince, was precluded from participating.
