1683 Premier of the Amokolian Republic elections
After the Amokolian Republic was given the status of autonomous republic within Elwynn, elections were held to both its legislature, the Sænate (see 1683 Sænate election), and its Premier. In the end, Benjamin Sluyjs of the Amokolian People's Party was elected Premier. The election was held on 1.XIV.1683, on the same day as the other Elwynnese elections of that year.
Electoral method
Voting is done through the single transferable vote. Each voter has one ballot. The voter ranks each candidate on the ballot. In Round 1, only the first-preference votes are counted. The candidate with least first-preference votes is eliminated, and any second-preference votes among people who voted for that candidate are added to the other candidates. The procedure is then repeated until one character has a majority.

Aftermath
Benjamin Sluyjs quickly found himself facing to build a majority for his platforms in the Sænate. After a few weeks of negotiations, it was announced that the Amokolian People's Party would build a majority in the Sænate with the Elwynnese Workers' Party, the Mishalanski Party for Democratic Socialism, the Conservative Party of Amokolia, and the Ayreonist Alliance.
