The 1604 Elwynnese elections for Prince of Elwynn took place in the Elwynnese Senate at the same time as the bill to remove Prince Deimos Jasonides from office occurred. In the end, Deimos Jasonides was removed from office and replaced with Nathaniel Ayreon-Kalirion.

Background

Leaked private messages conversations between Soreaa Isurui, Senator and President of the Senate, and Deimos Jasonides, the Prince of Elwynn, showed that Jasonides was a Bovic apostate pretending to be a loyal Bovic follower. This caused much upheaval among Bovics and Ayreonists (as Jasonides had spoken ill of Elijah Ayreon too). They demanded the immediate removal of Deimos Jasonides as prince. The Congress of Elwynn passed a resolution on the matter, commanding the President of the Senate to put forward the motion to the Senate.

Isurui, however, went from her normal neutral self as president and propagated loudly from the podium for both the removal of Jasonides and putting Nathaniel in his place.

Results

In the end, the Senate voted 2–1 to remove Deimos Jasonides (Senators Lewis and Milharna in favour, Senator Oqtavion against) . On the second question, whether, in the event of the removal of Jasonides place Nathaniel as prince, the Senate voted with one vote in favour (Senator Oqtavion), one against (Senator Lewis) and one abstention (Senator Milharna). The President broke the tie with voting for Nathaniel.

Aftermath

Immediate protests broke out, both in the Senate, and across Elwynn.

Senator Lewis lead the protests with holding a passionate speech:

I wish to voice my concern about the recent events in the senate of Elwynn. The President of the Senate clearly wishes her own bill to pass and to install mr. Ayreon's appearent son as Prince of Elwynn.

Why is this, I wonder. This Nathaniel has not shown any signs of capability or even a remote interest for the position of Prince. Yes, much more even, he hasn't even shown signs of anything. Appearently mr. Ayreon Jr. (is there any evidence to support his claim of being the son of Elijah by the way?) does not deem it necessary to show his face to the senate, or to give any information about how or why he imagines to rule Elwynn.

I think this can be regarded as an insult to, and contempt of the senate of Elwynn.

I ask, once again, Why would we elect Nathaniel Ayreon as Prince of Elwynn? Have we forgotten our democratic roots and have we chosen the path of nepotism? Surely not, you will say. But note that this Nathaniel isn't even a true Elw. He is born in Natopia and raised in Babkha.

The senate will choose the right person to sit upon the throne of Elwynn. And Nathaniel Ayreon has to try his best to persuade the senate and to prove that he is this right person.
