1685 Nordisketing election
The 1681 Nordisketing election in Normark will be held on 4.IV.1685. This is the third Nordisketing election since Normark's accession to Elwynn (previously it was a Natopian autonomous kingdom).
The governing coalition consisting of the Einhorn Society, the Nationalist and Humanist Party, and the Reinherder Association hopes to keep its majority.
Electoral method
In this election, each bailiwick forms one constituency. The number of seats per bailiwick was decided in proportion to that bailiwick's share of the total population.
There are 269 seats. A majority requires 135 seats.
Within each bailiwick, elections are proportional with a party-list system.

Aftermath and government formation
The government coalition, consisting of the Einhorn Society, the Nationalist & Humanist Party, and the Reinherder Alliance suffered great losses, losing almost half their seats from the previous Ting.
The government immediately resigned, but remained in place as a caretaker government until such time that a new Ting would be able to elect a new prime minister and government.
The Ting met a month later, and elected Sigrid Årud, the outgoing prime minister, as its speaker, in a spurious deal with the opposition parties. The Reinherder Alliance, which lost its influential position on the Council of Eliria, was outraged. In the deal, in return for retaining its seat on the Council of Eliria, the Einhorn Society would provide supply and confidence for a government consisting of the Democratic Socialist Workers' Coalition, the Ayreonist Alliance, and the Free Juice and Bagels Party.
Årud thereby nominated, as her first act as speaker, FJBP chairman Ethan Setsman, to the position of Prime Minister. He was confirmed with the support of his coalition, the Bovic Brotherhood, and the Einhorn Society.
The Norse Reform Party, which won a plurality of votes in the election, expressed its indignation at the "dirty politickeering tactics" and named itself leader of the opposition.
