The 1675 Northern Commonwealth election was the first legislative election in the Elwynnese short-lived autonomous republic of the Northern Commonwealth. The Verionist Union received a majority of seats to the Northern Congress, but initiated a coalition with the Holy Party of the Divine Icebear. Together they then controlled 70% of the Northern Congress. The Nationalist and Humanist Party accused the Verionists of electoral fraud, but the courts in the Northern Commonwealth ruled that no electoral irregularities had occurred.
Electoral method
Each bailiwick of the Northern Commonwealth constituted one constituency. Each bailiwick was afforded at least one member of congress. The remaining seats (of a maximum 100) were divided to each bailiwick by proportion of its population. As such, the average bailiwick delegation was 3 members of congress, the smallest one 1 member (several bailiwicks), and the largest one 14 (Fieldburg).
