Operation Sable Shield is a joint military operation being conducted by Nouvelle Alexandrie and Natopia, at the request of Keltia Command, to support the Kingdom of Normark in the Liberation of Dalen from the Confederacy of the Dispossessed. The operation began in 1718 AN and is ongoing. In late 1719 AN, with the forces of the Dispossessed approaching Sårensby, the Raspur Pact's Keltia Command requested the activation of the military component of Operation Sable Shield.
Background
Operation Sable Shield was launched in response to the worsening situation in the Kingdom of Normark, which was facing escalating conflict with the Confederacy of the Dispossessed. The operation was designed to provide much-needed military and financial assistance to Normark, helping to stabilize the situation and support Normark's efforts to regain control of its territory.
In late 1719, the 1719 Normark coup d'état took place, with Nouvelle Alexandrie and Natopia supporting the removal of the King of Normark, Tarjei Thorgilsson, from power. The coup led to a change in government, with Fredrik Michael Tarjeisson succeeding his father as King of Normark and significantly increased support from Nouvelle Alexandrie and Natopia.
Operation
Objectives
The objectives of Operation Sable Shield are to:
- Provide military advisory support to Normark's forces;
- Offer financial assistance to help them acquire equipment, supplies, and ammunition for the campaign;
- Deploy rapid reaction forces to Elijah's Rest and Sårensby and crush the advance of the Dispossessed;
- Provide economic aid to help fund reconstruction efforts in Dalen.
Timeline
- 1717 AN:
- 11.IV.1717 - The Life Guards Brigade of the Nordhær crosses the frontier into Jangsong and encounters forces originally aligned with the so-called Bassarid Kingdom of New Normark now having joined a large force of the Dispossessed.
- 6.XI.1717 - The Government of Normark sends a memorandum to the Joint-Military Council of the Raspur Pact requesting large amounts of military equipment and support.
- 1718 AN
- The Benacian Union and Nouvelle Alexandrie begin to provide limited aid to Normark, with more promised during the course of 1718 AN.
- Normark reaches out to the Prime Minister of Hurmu for the release of the Regiment of the Blackfriars' from service in Amaland and Karnamark.
- 8.X.1718 - The Battle of Revby occurs, as a large warband sent as reinforcements for the Nordhær is intercepted by the Dispossessed and other renegade forces led by Knotaric.
- 1719 AN
- After a stunning string of victories, the Dispossessed counteroffensive reaches Sårensby. A full-fledged Raspur Pact military intervention begins led by the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie, with full scale support from Natopia and the Benacian Union.
- Rapid response forces from Nouvelle Alexandrie and Natopia are deployed to Elijah's Rest and Sårensby.
- 19.XIV.1719: The 1719 Normark coup d'état results in the removal of King Tarjei Thorgilsson from power and his exile to Los Bananos. His son, Fredrik Michael Tarjeisson, succeeds him as King of Normark.
- 23.XIV.1719: Natopia's Orbital Defence Force 2nd (Bombardment) Group begin a kinetic bombardment on key military sites and weapon caches which are believed to be occupied by Dispossessed in the Keltian Green and near Sårensby.
- 24.XIV.1719: A Federal Air Force of Nouvelle Alexandrie gunship targeted a suspected Dispossessed convoy. The convoy had been tracked at night by a Javelin M-2 Dragoon drone. An estimated 5–10 militants were killed and 4-5 injured.
Military Support
Nouvelle Alexandrie
The Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie participating in the operation include the Grand Army, the Federal Navy, the Federal Air Force, the Federal Coast Guard, the Federal Border Guard, and the Federal Support Corps. Military advisors from Nouvelle Alexandrie are embedded with Normark's forces to provide expert guidance and training. Financial assistance is being provided to Normark's forces to help them acquire necessary equipment, supplies, and ammunition for the campaign. Rapid reaction forces are on standby for deployment to Elijah's Rest and Sårensby.

Natopia
Similar to Nouvelle Alexandrie, Natopia has committed its military resources to support the Kingdom of Normark. The Natopian Defense Force has deployed forces to Elijah's Rest and Sårensby. Natopian military advisors are working alongside their New Alexandrian counterparts to provide guidance and training to Normark's forces. Financial assistance is also being provided for the acquisition of equipment, supplies, and ammunition.

Major Defense Companies
Several major defense companies in Nouvelle Alexandrie and Natopia, including Javelin Industries, the National Research and Development Corporation, ESB Susa, and Neridia Defense Industries, are actively involved in Operation Sable Shield. These companies are producing materiel and providing direct advisory support to Normark's forces.
- Javelin Industries is manufacturing aircraft, such as light attack aircraft, multi-role strike aircraft, and transport rotorcraft, to enhance Normark's air capabilities.
- National Research and Development Corporation is developing advanced technologies for the campaign, including surveillance and communication systems.
