Fatima Ayreon-Kalirion ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati (born Esther Fatima Gudrid des Vinandy of the Houses of Ayreon-Kalirion and of the Descendants of Freyja at St. Harald's Mount near Avaldsnes in Elwynn on 18 Oskaltequ 1638) (1638 - 1703 AN) was the only daughter of King Noah of Elwynn and Kaiseress Noor of Shireroth. At the time of her birth, she was a princess of the Elwynnese royal family, a title that she held until 1653 AN. She was also in in line to the Shirerithian and Elwynnese thrones until the contentious annulment of her parents' marriage in 1653 AN and the establishment of an Elwynnese Republic around the same time.
She married Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy in 1681 AN, making her Kaiserin Gemalin of Francia and Queen consort of Batavia until the Amokolian and Batavian Revolutions in 1685, leading to her exile to Arbor, where she was proclaimed Emira.
Name
Esther Fatima Gudrid was named after Esther Ayreon-Kalirion, Fatima al-Osman and Gudrid Thorbjarnardottir. But in the Raspur area she was known as Esther Esposito (Tellian for "exposed"), which in Shirerithian tradition is given to caste-shamed deposed individuals from the nobility. She was removed from the nobility upon the unlawful annulment of her parents marriage (as only legitimate children inherit noble dignity in Shirerithian law). Prior to the this, she was known as Lady Esther of Anglia in Shireroth (to differentiate her from her grandmother Esther Maryam Amirdokhtar), after her Elwynnese earldom Anglia, given to her by her father.
After the Amokolian Revolution and the collapse of Stormark, she relocated to Arbor with her husband and took on the name Fatima Ayreon-Kalirion ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati. This name honours her matrilineal descent within the House of Ayreon-Kalirion, and her descent from Simran ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati. Similarly, her children were given new names, too.
Family
Fatima is a fifty-eighth-generation descendant of Kaiser Raynor I, the first kaiser of Shireroth (79–169 AN) through her mother's descent within the House of Ayreon-Kalirion.
Fatima had five elder brothers. The eldest four are from her mother's first marriage with the late Emperor Nathaniel of Natopia, quadruplets who were begotten by artificial insemination and born in 1630.
They are, in order of birth:
- Adam Anushiruwân Hilding Ayreon-Kalirion ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati of Waffel-Paine (1630–1650, executed for killing his mother and brothers);
- Zahir al Din Benjamin Rai Ayreon-Kalirion ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati of Waffel-Paine (1630–);
- Rostam Job Cashmael Ayreon-Kalirion ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati of Waffel-Paine (1630-1639; killed by Adam);
- Arn David Shapur Ayreon-Kalirion ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati of Waffel-Paine (1630-1639; killed by Adam).
Her fifth brother was born in 1635 to Thorstein Noah Hallbjörnsson and Noor as-Salaam bint Daniyal Umra Suleiman.
- Vilhjálm Daniel Gudrödar of the Houses of Ayreon-Kalirion and of the Descendants of Freyja ibn al-Majeed bin Sathrati (1635-). He died in 1685.
As such, Fatima was the only daughter of Kaiseress Noor.
Through her half brother Adam, she had a nephew, Kaiser Ayreon IV (1645–1671), and through him she has great nephews and nieces, Kaiseress Salome (b. 1665), Kir Azariah Vidar (b. 1667), Kian Aiomide Shahnaz (b. 1667), Rubin Leonid Orientalis (b. 1671).
Marriage
Esther was courted by her second cousin Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy since 1679 AN. That led to an engagement. On 10 Louwmaand 1681 AN the couple married in the Kaupmaðrhǫll Castle in Stormark.
With this marriage she became Kaiserin Gemalin of Francia and Queen consort of Batavia. As well as the stepmother of Arkadius' children from his first marriage. The following children were born from this marriage:
- Hakim bin Alsalam was born on 20 Lentemaand 1682 (13.X.1682 AN);
- Atiya bint Alsalam was born on 20 Lentemaand 1682 (13.X.1682 AN);
- Aisha bint Alsalam, was born on 22 Bloeimaand 1684 (22.XII.1684 AN);
- Nur bint Alsalam, was born on 22 Bloeimaand 1684 (22.XII.1684 AN).
- Farhan bin Alsalam was born on 24 XV 1686 AN
- Astīr bint Alsalam was born on 24 XV 1686 AN.
Biography
Until the age of 12, Esther's childhood was prosperous, full of all the luxuries the Elwynese monarchy could provide. She was made Earla of Anglia by her father. When she was six, her mother Noor was elected Kaiseress of Shireroth. During Noor's reign, the Shirerithian monarchy transferred from being appointed/elected to a dynastic. As such, Esther became a princess of Shireroth and in line to the Shirerithian throne. Even though her mother was residing in Shirekeep, Esther was living with her father in Eliria. Due to Noor's busy schedule, they did not see each other very much. Despite this, Esther always spoke well of her mother and remembered loving her very much. In 1650, when Esther was only 12, her mother was killed by her half brother Adam in Ura'Bos. This caused much trauma to Esther and her family.
During the Froyalan Genocide in 1651, at the age of 13 when her father's rule in Elwynn was toppled, she escaped with him to Stormark. Her uncle, Audun Joel (ex-kaiser Hjalmar Redquill), died during the battle. Audun Joel was an identical twin to her father Noah, and was thought by the opposing forces to have been Noah. Esther remained a Shirerithian princess and in line to the throne until the annulment of her parents' marriage in 1653. The annulment has been declared illegal in Storish and Frankish law, but remained uncontested in Shirerithian and Elwynnese law until 1722 when the marriage was determined to have been fully legal.
In Stormark, she finished her education. She proved adequate in diplomacy and was given a posting as the Storish ambassador to Caputia upon reaching adulthood. She worked thereafter for the diplomatic corps in Stormark, as well as taking care of her late mother's estate in Stormark (where Noor, through her marriage with Noah, had amassed many riches) on behalf of her nephew Vidar Ayreon, the young child kaiser of Shireroth, and thereafter, upon Ayreon's adulthood and subsequent assassination, on behalf of her grandnephews.
In the late 1670s, Esther was courted by King Arkadius IV of Batavia (who also became the Frankish emperor around the same time). They formalized their relationship in 1679 and were engaged to marry. On 10 Louwmaand 1681 AN the couple married in the Kaupmaðrhǫll Castle in Stormark. She thus became Frankish empress and Batavian queen. After the Batavian and Amokolian revolutions of 1685, and the subsequent collapse of Stormark, she and her husband renounced their former titles and set up a secluded lifestyle in Arbor. She and her family changed their names.
Contradictions
The so-called annulment of her parents' marriage is a source of contradictions. According to Storish law and after the judgment of the Froyalan Tribunal, the annulment of the marriage is considered unlawful. The unlawfulness of the annulment was confirmed by Shireroth in 1722.
Titles
Until 1651, her titles in Shireroth and Elwynn were recognised as Her Imperial and Royal Highness Esther Fatima Gudrid of the Houses of Waffel-Paine, of Ayreon-Kalirion, and of the Descendants of Freyja, Earla of Anglia, Earla of Nådens Havn, Princess of Shireroth, Princess of Elwynn, Princess of Uppland, Llængjarla of Elwynn, Countess of Northshire, Countess of Arietta, Countess of the Lady Esther Isles, Lady of the Holy Lakes, Scion of the King of the Kings.
Between 1651 and 1653, her Shirerithian titulary was reduced to mere "Her Imperial Highness Princess Esther, Princess of Shireroth, Lady of the Holy Lakes, Scion of the King of Kings". Thereafter, in Shireroth, she was declared a bastard from the relationship between Noor and Noah, and re-titled "Miss Esther Esposito". In Francia, Batavia, and Stormark, this retitling was declared illegal. When she married Arkadius IV of Batavia, she took on her titles from Shireroth and Elwynn in pretence, and at the same time took on several titles as consort of Arkadius.
In 1685, however, she renounced all titles related to Elwynn, Shireroth, Stormark and Batavia, and became Emira of Arbor instead. A few weeks later, her membership in the Order of the Holy Lakes was transformed from Lady of the Holy Lakes to Princess among the Lakes upon the deaths of her father and brother.
Death
Along with her husband, Fatima was executed in Tadmur on 22.XI.1703 AN. The Order of the Holy Lakes considers the execution as unlawful and classes it as murder.
