The so-called Free State of Constancia was the term by which an insurgent movement in The Green south of Alduria, southeast of Thracistan and north of Arak was known.

History

It is well-documented that the Free State of Constancia reached general public consciousness thanks to the distribution of numerous pamphlets [2] in side roads and other unseemly neighborhoods of Aqaba.

They claimed responsibility for the assassination of Agilulf Vasilescu, prominent Modanese exile, Commissioner of the Asylum and Refugees Commission, and shareholder of the Androphagos Corporation via the ill-fated Imperial Constancian Airways Corporation Flight 842 [3].

Not long after the establishment of the Union of the Republics of Zeed, a small-scale insurgency against Constancian interests took place in the Green southeast of the Aldurian region. With the establishment of the Great Antakia project, it is surmised that the Free Staters are utilizing this opportunity to further strengthen their defenses, train their troops, and utilize resources for their benefit.

Embroiled, albeit with limited enthusiasm, in the Third Euran War from 1693 AN onwards, the main form of support offered by the Free State to Zeed was that of moral encouragement and propaganda, supplemented by charitable donations and a small smattering of volunteers willing to make the perilous journey to the south. The occupation of northern and central Eura, along with its subsequent partition, by Constancia and Nouvelle Alexandrie under Operation Paramount (concluded by 12.XII.1698 AN) spelt the doom of the Free State and the final liquidation of the last bastions of liberal opposition and resistance to the rule of the Autokrator of Constancia.

Governance

The Free State of Constancia appears to be governed by a deliberative chamber called the Assembly of the Nation, composed of duly-elected representatives. It is unknown who the chief executive of this organization is, or what their title may be. This secrecy is said to be to ensure their survival against the perennial and persistent threat posed by the insidious State Protection Authority of the Imperial State of Constancia.

1712 Manifesto

The Assembly of the Nation united in Congress addresses each nation:

The international support given to Constancia has been used by this tyrannical government to suppress civil rights and the democratization of Constancia.

We proclaim that our resistance movement is for the purpose of toppling the immoral and corrupt regime.

Any foreign government or organization that provides political, economic, or military assistance to the regime is acting against the national interest and the best interests of the Constancian people. Therefore, the decision of these foreign governments to support the regime or to support the people of Constancia will ultimately determine if you are a friend or enemy of the Constancian people.

1713 Schism

In 1713 AN reports surfaced of a schism within the command structure of the Constancian Liberation Army, with a new formation, based around the 2nd Brigade, breaking off from the former structure and reconstituting itself as the Peripatetic and Mendicant Liberation Army.

Surenid Civil War

Units and volunteers of the Free State were active during the Surenid Civil War.
