The Capital derby (also known as the Mercury derby) is the football match between the two main clubs in the city of Mercury, Cook Island and Mercury City.
History
The two sides first met after Mercury City's relegation to the Second League, with Cook Island losing out 2–1 to their rivals. Mercury City won by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture. The two sides will meet again in the 2013 season, after Mercury City maintained their 100% winning record in the derby, winning 2–1 in a preseason friendly on 6 November 2012.
