The 2022 Mercury Women's League was the tenth season of the Mercury Women's League, the highest professional league for women's football clubs organised by the MeFA.
Changes from 2021
Twelve teams were added to League 2 from the regional leagues for this season, with all twelve clubs transitioning into full-time professional teams. None of the twelve new clubs used the suffix "Ladies" as part of their team name, in anticipation for a rule change for 2023 whereby women's clubs must be fully incorporated by their host teams, and not treated as their own distinct entity.
