The Gerenian Women's Second Division (Gerenian: Saliția Deyes Elskaies Gherenies, primarily referred to as the S-2, was the second tier of women's football in Gerenia. The league was the female equivalent to the men's League 2 and was contested by 8 clubs. Seasons ran from August to May, with teams playing 28 games each in a season. Most games were played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings.
History
The Second Division was created in June 2015 as more women's teams were founded in Gerenia, and applied for SZG membership.
The inaugural season started in August 2015, with eight founder teams taking part in the competition.
Format
During the course of a season, from August to May, each club played the others four times, twice at their home stadium and twice at that of their opponents, for a total of 28 games. At the end of each season, the club with the most points was crowned champion, and was directly promoted to the First Division, while the runners-up qualified for a Promotion/Relegation play-off against the ninth placed team in the First Division. If points were equal, the goal difference and then goals scored determined the winner.
