The Federal Assembly is the bicameral legislature of Sanama. The upper house, the Senate, has 85 members that serve for the duration of their provincial parliaments. Each legislature of the nine provinces elect nine members to serve in the Senate. The administrator of Highpass and the mayor of the Federal Capital Territory appoint two senators each. The lower house, the Llusan, has 639 members proportionally elected with the entire country as a single constituency. Members of the Llusan serve for three years. The houses are equal in power and both must consent to pass legislation.
