Semisaa is a people's republic of Sanama, located in the east of the country. The republic has an area of 65,000 km2 and a population of over seven million people, making it the fifth largest by area and eighth largest by population. It was formed in 1702 following the Sanaman Civil War. The north of the republic is dominated by tropical forests interspersed with farms. The south of the republic has industry along the urban centers as well as farmland. Semisa is a major producer of bananas, papaya and vegetables. The republic also has a blossoming fishing industry. The capital Pakor City, located on the southwestern shore, also has a growing manufacturing and petroleum industry. The republic is bordered to the west by Soli, to the north by Shireroth, and to the south by the Laq Republic and the Gulf of Khaz.
Geography
The republic is wide from east to west, but also rather narrow from north to south. The coastline is mostly covered in a dense tropical forest which is protected in many places from forestry. The inland has smaller non-tropical forests divided by ricefields and fruit farms. The republic is mostly rural with a few urban areas.
Economy
The republic is largely rural, but with a few larger cities and urban areas, especially the capital Pakor City, as well as Tatirha, Qexon and Tosha City. The coastal tropical forest sees limited and sustainable forestry, while the smaller forests inland are more heavily exploited. The farms in the inland grow rice, pineapple, sugar cane, bananas, papaya, vegetables, corn and wheat, with cattle, swine, chicken and sheep farming dominating in the far east. Tanisha Foods is a major actor in the province, together with smaller farmers and meat producers. Pakor City has a growing manufacturing and fisheries industry. Apishe Group based in Pakor City is a major employer. The union government is also a large employer with several units from the Sanaman Union Armed Services.
