The 2022–23 Liga Mataba (also known as the IAI Super Liga Mataba due to sponsorship reasons) is the 1st season of the Liga Mataba, the sole professional league in Mataba. The season ran from late October and ended in early April.

Mataba Sailors claimed the first LiM title in its history and became record champions.

Format

The following key changes were made to the rules since the 2022 season:

  1. Cheetahs XII can only register under-23 players and are entitled to 4 overaged players.
  2. Players shall be allocated jersey numbers 1 to 99. Jersey number become available for allocation to new members after a player ceased to play for a club.
  3. LM clubs are now allowed to register a maximum of five foreign players with no age restrictions, of whom at least one shall be of the nationality of an AEFA Member Association. A maximum of four foreign players may be named or fielded in any one match.
  4. All grounds remain the same from the 2021 season.
  5. All clubs may choose to register one Dauian player as the player will not count as a foreign player.
  6. Teams are required to register twenty-two players for their squad with additions being allowed to be made later on in the season.
