The 1724 general election was held in Kurum Ash-Sharqia to elect the 8th session of Al-Majlis Al-Watani. The election was held on the 23rd day of 1724 AN. 100 seats in Al-Majlis Al-Watani were up for election.

In 1720 AN Naoufal Molenaar became Grand Vizier. He had to step down in 1721 AN after the Nobility Bill Controversy and was succeeded by Hayat Markenburger as Grand Vizier and IPP party leader. She led the IPP to victory, gaining 3 seats. The IPP fell 3 seats short to gain an absolute majority.

A fifth party successfully entered parliament with 5 seats: the All Corum Congress Party.

The formation of a new cabinet was extremely difficult. The bigger parties (S.P., Sec.A.) left the negotiations. They felt that the IPP was too bold after their victory and unable to make compromises. Eventually after several months of stalemate, the new ACCP agreed to support a minority cabinet, in return for an expansion of Kurum Ash-Sharqia into the Green.
