The Eastern Empire, or Eastern Empire within the Imperial Republic of Shireroth or Dōngfāng dìguó (東方帝國) in Jingdaoese, is the name given to the Shirerithian territories on Apollonia, a similar term is Greater Kildare although that term does not include the Far Eastern Territory. Following the Treaty of Gaelen's Landing the Eastern Empire lost its centralised government and was divided into various duchies and one viceroyalty, this did not benefit the governability of the region and in 1758 the Golden Mango Throne expressed its frustration with the situation and expressed that the Imperial Republic of Shireroth was considering reducing the territory of the Eastern Empire to make it more governable. As the response from the dukes was lukewarm, Simone bat Erasmus, during her reign known as the Qishou Emperor, decided that it was time for her to wage a coup against her grandmother the Xinshi Emperor, who she saw as incompetent and bring back order on Apollonia. After taking over control of the Duchy of Jingdao, she restored the Tegong and made it clear that she would intervene throughout the Eastern Empire to bring an end to incompetence.
The Eastern Empire's revival was presented symbolically with the Kaiser Ayreon VI Parade in Daocheng on 14.V.1758, under the watchful eyes of Kaiser Ayreon VI and the Qishou Emperor. Goal of the parade was to show the strength that the empire still had, and celebrating its partnership with the Golden Mango Throne. There was still a lot of work to do as on the edges of the Eastern Empire, local government was weak and warlords tried to withdraw themselves from imperial oversight. The Sifang Suweiai had regular meetings with commanders of the Apollonian Guards of the Eastern Imperium to fight uprisings of local warlords and also sought to reduce the long-term potential for unrest by relocating cultural minorities, diffusing them throughout the empire, and replacing them with culturally Jingdaoese majorities to create a more unified national culture.
Politics
The following political institutions exist in the Eastern Empire:
- Heavenly Light: not formally a position of power over the entirety of the Eastern Empire until the Golden Bull was passed, but the Heavenly Light represents the Eastern Empire in discussions with 'Shirekeep' and has a lot of prestige.
- Sifang Suweiai: private council consisting of the prefects that have been appointed by the Golden Mango Throne, overseen by the Heavenly Light. Responsible for day-to-day government of the Eastern Empire.
- Seanad: comprised of the dukes of the Eastern Empire and appointed representatives from the provinces, upper house of the National Diet.
- Imperial Yuan: representatives of the people of the Eastern Empire, lower house of the National Diet.
It should be noted that none of these political institutions replace the institutions that were put in place by national Shirerithian law, rather they are designed to complement it.

Tianchaodao
The revival of the Eastern Empire saw a rethinking of the Tianchaodao. The decline of the Jingdaoese Empire was seen as a reaction of the Gods to the Chidao Emperor, whose greatness was a threat to the Gods themselves who feared that he wanted to replace them with a monotheistic religion that worships the living Heavenly Light. Key point here is that according to the Tianchaodao, the Gods saw the Chidao Emperor as worthy to replace them, they just did not want to lose their position to him, it was not that they thought he was self-aggrandising. The weak Xinshi Emperor was sent by the Gods to weaken the Imperial Household so that it would be loyal to them again. In order for a stable balance to be found, the political primacy to rule all of Micras was given to the Kaiser of Shireroth while the Heavenly Light remained the favourite of the Gods, especially when the traditionalist Qishou Emperor ascended the throne. The renewed Tianchaodao maintains that the Eastern Empire has a special place on Micras as it is a holy land, while undividable part of Shireroth. The Heavenly Light is both the mediator between all people on Micras and the Gods, the only way that people can communicate with the Gods is through her, and also the mediator between the people of the Eastern Empire and imperial power of Shireroth, meaning that while all laws of Shireroth apply to the Eastern Empire, citizens and officials within the Eastern Empire do not follow that law directly but use the Quanshi, the interpretations of imperial law as issued by the Imperial Guang Palace. A claim made to imperial law directly is considered to be a circumvention of the divine position of the Heavenly Light and punishable by death. One point in the Tianchaodao that is often surprising to foreigners and westerners is that it states that the Heavenly Light is not allowed to use planes or rockets to travel, as this makes the Gods nervous, thinking that the Heavenly Light is on their way to replace them.
Baiwandao
The Baiwaindao, literally meaning a million swords, was the army founded by the Qishou Emperor. In order to defend the borders of her emperor she started building a massive army in the late 1750's. The army would grow to consist of a million men and women and have new weapon systems such as the Dolstier III that was presented during the Kaiser Ayreon VI Parade in Daocheng.
Transportation
The Eastern Empire has an extensive railroad network and a highway system. The railroad network is part of the Apollonian Express and the highway system is known as the Imperial Autobahn. Both systems have faced lack of investments in the first half of the 18th century but starting in 1758 they saw more funding as the imperial prefects were ordered by the Imperial Yuan to levy a tax and use that for infrastructure construction and maintenance.
