The 2021–22 Hurmu Soccer League is the eleventh season of the Hurmu Soccer League and the first under its new format. Under a directive from the Hurmu Football Association, the league was split into three sections; a regional first round, a Winter Cup series and a national second round, to determine the champions of Hurmu.

Background and structure

As the past ten editions of the Hurmu Soccer League had featured the same eight teams, the Hurmu FA decided to expand the league and invite clubs from across the country to enter into the league. However, noting the lack of organised football elsewhere, they decided that instead of assembling a giant league system, they would instead launch a national competitional which would start off with regional championships that would be held in the autumn, which would lead into a national competition.

It was decided to establish five separate regional championships; one each for Lontinien, Rekozemlje, Transprinitica and the Warring Islands, and a combined one for the districts of Lyrican Hurmu. It was determined that due to the professionalism of the teams of Lyrican Hurmu, that region would be afforded four automatic spots in the National Championship, with Lontinien, Rekozemlje and Transprinitca receiving two automatic spots each and the Warring Islands just one automatic spot. However, the remaining thirteen spots in the National Championship would be afforded to teams who qualified through the Winter Cup series where twenty teams (four from each regional championship) will battle out for a qualification spot in the National Championship.

The National Championship will be centrally held in Vesüha in the spring in a tournament format, with the twenty-four teams split into six groups of four, before the last sixteen enter a knock-out competition to be crowned national champions.

Preliminary rounds

Thirty-one amateur clubs had their applications to participate accepted. They were drawn to participate in a knock-out round to determine the four qualifiers for the Lyrican Hurmu Championship.
