Founded | 1673 AN |
Headquarters | Amapola, Nouvelle Alexandrie |
Javelin Industries is a New Alexandrian aerospace, defense, and advanced technologies multinational corporation headquartered in the city of Amapola, Alduria. It was formed by the merger of several smaller companies in 1673 AN, the two largest of them being the National Aerospace Corporation (NAC) in Amapola and the Société Industrielle Aérospatiale d'Alduria (SIAA) in Beauharnais. During the mid-1680's (AN), Javelin Industries bought several state-owned companies that were being privatized in order to raise funds for several ambitious government programs implemented by the then-Alduro-Wechua Fedration (now Nouvelle Alexandrie). The largest of these state-owned firms that were absorbed was the Aldurian Aviation Corporation.
The company designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rotorcraft, rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles worldwide, mainly to nations in the Raspur Pact or allies of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Javelin is the largest aerospace manufacturer in Nouvelle Alexandrie, as well as its largest defense contractor based on its yearly revenues since 1686 AN. It is also a leading contractor for many Council of State departments, the National Research and Development Corporation, and many other government agencies and projects. Javelin Industries is also commonly partnered with other defense contractors and companies in the Raspur Pact for many Pact-wide defense projects.
The company has won many important government contracts, the largest of these being the contract to participate in Project Fortuna, the New Alexandrian national space program. Javelin Industries is currently developing a strategic deep-strike stealth fighter in a consortium with Ransenar for use in their respective militaries. Javelin Industries is also developing an advanced space surveillance system to track artificial satellites, spaceships, and space debris in orbit around Micras.
The company is led by its CEO Henri Pompidou (since 1680 AN), a Natopian industrialist from the city of Triegon.
Organization
Javelin Industries operates in four business segments: Aeronautics, Space, Missiles & Fire Control (MFC), and Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS). However, the company does have many other subsidiaries and divisions that span beyond these four business segments.
Advanced design and development
The Javelin Advanced Development Initiative (JADI), commonly known as the AlphaBet Division, is a division within Javelin Industries that is responsible for research and development of emerging technologies and designs for use by Javelin Industries in its products and designs. Engineers in JADI have strongly influenced the development and cultivation of a native research and development industry in Nouvelle Alexandrie, especially in the field of telecommunications and defense.
JADI became known informally within the company as the "AlphaBet Division" because of its high degree of autonomy and separation from the rest of Javelin's bureaucracy. Many of its advanced or secret projects are initially considered to be extremely risky endeavors that can threaten company solvency and longevity.
Aeronautics
Javelin Aeronautics is a major unit of Javelin Industries. It is based in Amapola, Alduria and Dorwynne, North Lyrica. Various subassemblies are produced at locations in Alduria, the Wechua Nation, North Lyrica, and South Lyrica.
Currently, the most important project by far to Javelin Aeronautics is the Javelin F-18 Cyclone and the experimental X-68 Overture.
Missiles and Fire Control
Javelin Missiles and Fire Control (JMFC) provides air and missile defense systems; tactical missiles and air-to-ground precision strike weapon systems; logistics; fire control systems; mission operations support, readiness, engineering support and integration services; manned and unmanned ground vehicles; and energy management solutions. JMFC also has contracts with the government of Nouvelle Alexandrie for various classified programs.
JMFC is based in Behaurnais, Alduria and in Cardenas, Federal Capital District. It maintains facilities located in Piriya, Alduria; Nuevo Corcovado, Islas de la Libertad; Port Karsten, Isles of Caputia; Huancavelica, Wechua Nation; Alpamayo, Santander; Cardenas, Federal Capital District; Jirishanca, Santander; Mayenne, Valencia; San Juan, Santander; and one location in Natopia, located in Eadricton, Neridia.
Rotary and Mission Systems
Javelin Rotary and Mission Systems (JRMS) is headquartered in Cardenas, Federal Capital District. Until 1695 AN, it was headquartered in Amapola, Alduria, until it was moved to Cardenas, where most of its executives and new manufacturing and design facilities are being built and developed.
Products currently in development include Project Space Armor, the Silver Hammer, the Geneva family of missile products, the Basilisk Beam, and other programs that remain classified or undisclosed for national security reasons.
Javelin Industries is also speeding up its development of new designs and proposals for rotary aircraft, particularly to meet the challenge faced by Nouvelle Alexandrie and its current lack of rotary aircraft for its military needs.
Space
Minerva Space Systems (MSS) maintains headquarters in Mayenne, Valencia and in Piriya, Alduria. It maintains additional sites in Islas de la Libertad, Alduria, Valencia, Santander, and New Luthoria. Its most notable products are commercial and military satellites, space probes, missile defense systems, and the Constellation spacecraft, a reusable spacecraft developed for Project Fortuna.
Others
Javelin Industries has other small divisions that deal with finance, venture capital, and other fields:
Joint ventures
