The Javelin F-21 Heavenscream fulfils the requirement for a "short take-off vertical landing" (STOVL) fighter capable of operating from the Behaurnais-class amphibious assault ship, or the Rhodondra-class amphibious assault ships that presently comprise the majority of "flat-top" aviation carrying vessels in the navies of the Raspur Pact.
Development & production timeline
- 20.I.1700 AN: qty x4 F-21 Heavenscream ordered for evaluation by the Federal Air Force in a contract valued at xxxx écu. Prototypes to be delivered by no later than 1706 AN.
- 1711–1724: 124x delivered into NAX service.
- 1729: 48x ordered by the Imperial Constancian Armed Forces for Fleet Air Arm. Named in Constancian service as the F-21 Alecto ("unceasing anger"), so named after one of the three mythological deities of vengeance.
