The JAV 31 Vencejo is a versatile laser-guided battlefield missile system developed by a New Alexandrian company, Javelin Industries. Unveiled in 1700 AN, the missile is designed to perform surface-to-surface (SSM), surface-to-air (SAM), and air-to-surface (ASM) missions, providing flexibility on the modern battlefield.

Design and Features

The JAV 31 Vencejo missile features a laser-guided system, enabling it to accurately engage a wide array of targets, from enemy armor and fortifications to aircraft and drones. The missile employs a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, which can effectively neutralize both soft and hard targets. The missile's guidance system leverages an advanced targeting algorithm, capable of 'painting' targets for precise strikes. This function allows operators to assign the missile to specific targets during flight, enabling it to adjust its trajectory dynamically.

The Vencejo's airframe has been designed for enhanced aerodynamics, ensuring reliable performance in a variety of environmental conditions. It can be launched from various platforms, including ground-based launchers, aircraft, and naval vessels, providing considerable tactical flexibility. The system is capable of reaching a maximum operational range of 8 kilometers and has a flight ceiling of 6 kilometers. This extended range and high flight ceiling allow for safer deployment at a distance, keeping the launch platform outside the effective range of most enemy countermeasures.

Operational History

The JAV 31 Vencejo has quickly been adopted by the Federal Forces of Nouvelle Alexandrie, offering an adaptable missile system capable of fulfilling several operational roles. Its effectiveness against a wide range of targets, combined with its adaptability and range, have made it a valued asset on the battlefield.

Adopted by the Benacian Union Defence Force in 1701 AN as the primary munition paired with the M1701 158mm MLRS developed by the Mishalan Arsenal, the Vencejo can be utilised as a precision guided missile, launched individually, or fired in salvo for a more generalised area effect. The Vencejo (missile) is also notable for its inclusion as the primary missile armament of the HK-IV M1707 Stalker.

Since 1710 AN the Vencejo (missile) has been the default missile of the Athena Air Defense System.

Variants

Javelin Industries has developed several variants of the Vencejo missile to cater to specific operational requirements. These include an extended-range version with a reach of up to 10 kilometers, and a variant equipped with a dual-purpose warhead for enhanced effectiveness against armored targets and personnel.
