The Zandarijn national football team was the football team which represented the Craitish autonomous territory of Zandarijn. It was a member of the CTFA, after originally being affiliated to the WMFA, and was run by the KZVB.
History
Zandarijn applied successfully to join the FMF after the territory was founded by Craitland in 2007. However, the national team's FMF membership was granted too late for the team to be involved in the inaugural CiboTap Championships. Because of this, Zandarijn was granted WMFA membership and the team entered the confederation's qualifiers, where they were beaten 8–2 on aggregate by FMF World Cup holders Beaugium.
The following year, the team competed in the CTFA's World Cup qualifiers, where they finished second in their group behind Kavalos, before being beaten by Alexandria in the play-offs. As a result, the team finished third in CiboTap 2008.
In 2009, the team again finished second in its qualifying group. However, as Alexandria were already assured of a place in the finals as hosts, the Zandts were the highest-placed CTFA qualifiers. In coming second in the group, the team also advanced to that year's CiboTap final, where they beat Alexandria on penalties for their first ever title. The team's fortunes lessened later in the year, and they only managed one point in three games at the World Cup.
The 2010 qualifiers saw further disappointment as the team could only finish third in a four-team group with seven points.
The team finished third in the CTFA's sole six-team group for the 2011 World Cup qualifying; one place below automatic qualifiers Natopia by one goal's difference. In finishing third, the team advanced to the interconfederational play-off against Ashkenatza, who qualified instead of Zandarijn by virtue of the away goals rule after a 2–2 aggregate scoreline.
In the 2012 qualifiers, the team finished second in their four-team group with eleven points. In doing so, they advanced to the CiboTap 2012 semi-finals, losing 2–1 after extra time to eventual champions Natopia, and finishing third for the second year running.
After successfully bidding to co-host the 2013 FMF World Cup with Hammish Monovia, the Zandt team still participated in the year's qualifiers for CiboTap 2013. In their six-team group, the team finished top with 23 points, advancing to the CiboTap semi-finals. After overcoming Natopia, the team lost 3–1 to Alexandria in the final. In the World Cup, the team managed to advance from their group with four points, before being beaten 2–0 by eventual champions Hamland in the quarter-finals.
The team topped their four-team 2014 qualifying group with ten points to reach the 2014 FMF World Cup. The team also reached the 2014 CiboTap Championships, where they won their semi-final against Greater Sangun before losing to Alexandria 2–1 in a repeat of the previous year's final. In the World Cup, the team performed poorly as they finished bottom of their group after losing all three matches without even scoring a goal.
In the 2015 qualifiers, the team finished second in their five-team group with 17 points; below Athlon and missing-out on a third consecutive finals appearance.
The qualifying rounds for CiboTap 2016 saw Zandarijn win their five-team group unbeaten with 22 points to qualify for the finals. In the finals, Zandarijn advanced from their group without losing a match, but were beaten by eventual champions Birgeshir 1–0 and hosts Calbion 2–1 in the semi-finals and third-place match, respectively, to finish fourth overall.
The team's fortunes lessened in the following year's World Cup qualifiers, as they finished third in their five-team group with twelve points.
The team competed in the 2018 CiboTap Championships qualification rounds, where they finished second in their four-team group with ten points to advance to the play-offs, where they were beaten 2–1 on aggregate by Passio-Corum.
A return to form in the 2019 World Cup qualifiers saw the team top their five-team group with 19 points and qualify for their first finals in five years, where they were eliminated in the group stage after placing fourth with three points.
After Zandarijn successfully bid to host the 2020 CiboTap Championships, therefore qualifying automatically, the team participated in the year's FMF Confederations Cup, where they finished third in their four-team group with six points. At CiboTap, the hosts advanced from their group unbeaten with seven points, behind Natopia on goal difference, before being beaten 2–0 by Birgeshir in the semi-finals, but overcame North Antartica 2–0 to finish in third.
In the 2021 FMF World Cup qualification rounds, the team finished second in their six-team group with 21 points. Later in the year, Zandarijn left Micras after Craitland reduced its land claims.
