Timeline of Modern Batavia

A timeline of modern Batavia since the return of Gustaaf Vermeylen on 1.I.1661 (1 June 2018). Batavian like states were already active before the return of Gustaaf, namely Kasterburg and Transbataafsche Vrystaat. Both states were wiki-based and owned parts of the former Batavian lands. After Gustaaf's return, the Batavians united and the Batavian revival was established, with the timeline as follows:

  • 1: Gustaaf Vermeylen returns and arrives in the Transbataafsche Vrystaat. His arrival is ushered in by music [1], in which he himself says "Maybe a bit dramatic and big for a simple Batavian".

  • 7: The Constitutionele Partij is founded by Gustaaf Vermeylen.

  • 18: The first edition of the 's Koningenwaarder Courant published after the Batavian revival.

    • Gustaaf Vermeylen is inaugurated as Stadholder, the first Stadholder of the United Batavian States.

  • 7: Stadholder Gustaaf Vermeylen pronounces the first State of the Union in the Staten-Generaal.

  • 9: The first edition of De Bataafse Gazet published after the Batavian revival.

Batavian territories under Jingdaoese flag
  • 9: The Constitution of the United Batavian States is approved.
  • 20: The Batavian-Jingdaoese treaty of 1663 is accepted, so there is a joint sovereignty over the Batavian territories.

  • 11: A proposal for a Batavian revival on Eura is being submitted. The proposal is unsuccessful, as a result of a treaty with Shireroth whereby former Batavian territory comes back under the Batavian flag.

  • 18: The Batavian-Jingdaoese treaty of 1664 is accepted, transferring the sovereignty of the Batavian territories under the Jingdaoese flag, with the exception of the island of Wuqi.

The new Batavian country
  • 9: The Sxiro-Batavian Treaty of Amity & Settlement or Treaty of Portus Batavii is signed, transferring the Commonwealth of Puritanian States under the Batavian flag.
  • 20: The Nationale Volksunie is being abolished by August Baerdemans.

    • August Baerdemans is inaugurated as Stadholder, the second Stadholder of the United Batavian States.
    • The twentieth term of the Staten-Generaal begins with the following seat distribution:

      • Gustaaf Vermeylen jr. (CP): 50 seats

  • 16: The Unie van Bataven is founded by Wolfgang Osterwelle.

  • 14: Gustaaf Vermeylen and Wolfgang Osterwelle are shot in front of the Tavern 'De Groene Draack'. Wolfgang survived the attack, but Gustaaf did not.

  • 9: The Treaty on the Unification of Batavia between the Kingdom of Batavia and the Imperial Republic of Shireroth is signed, bringing the eastern Batavia under the Batavian flag.

  • 7: A newly built city was named after Kaiser Ayreon IV of Shireroth for "giving unselfishly a piece of his realm to the revival of our nation". The emperor reveals the sign with the name "Vidarstadt".

  • 16: Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy is appointed Grand Duke of Helderbourgh, creating a personal union with that country.

  • 10: Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy and Clara Sundara Waffel-Paine marry in the Cathedral of 's Koningenwaarde. They are going to live in the newly built Blanckenhof Palace.

  • 21: Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy is crowned King of Amokolia, creating a personal union with that country.

  • 22: Helderbourgh joins the Batavian Confederation.

  • 16: The chartered flight from 's Koningenwaarde to Sarhat with the Prime Minister Joachim Mackay on board disappears above the Great Western Sea.
  • 17: Los Liberados' membership of the Batavian Confederation has ended after the country becomes a protectorate of the Florian Republic.

  • 5: The state of emergency is declared, the government is taken in by the king and the Lagerhuis is dissolved immediately.
  • 16:
    • Karel Kyle is born, the second child of Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy and Clara des Vinandy - Sundara Waffel-Paine.
    • The city of Chryste was transferred to the Kingdom of Batavia by Verionist Republic.
    • A treaty of friendship and cooperation is signed with the Florian Republic.

  • 24: Gustavus Nathan is born, the third child of Arkadius Frederik Gustavus des Vinandy and Clara des Vinandy - Sundara Waffel-Paine.

  • 16: Chryste is transferred to the Kingdom of Amokolia, by royal decree. [3]

  • 5: Los Liberados again becomes a member of the Batavian Confederation after the country has regained its independence.

  • 16: Francia joins the Batavian Confederation.

  • 01: A group of Amokolian revolutionaries rose up in a number of cities, happy to use the temporary weakness of both the Batavian and Frankish apparatus. The King decided, upon hearing the news, to avoid blood shed and left Brandenburg the day after.
  • 02: The King arrives at Blanckenhof Palace, where he has a mental breakdown.
  • 04: Seen as the start of the Batavian Revolution. The King resigns his position, leaving Joseph des Vinandy-Windsor in charge as prince-regent for the crown princess Elizabeth des Vinandy, who at that time was only a minor. Simultanously, he abdicates the Amokolian throne to Prince Kir of Shireroth. Batavia now had a 74 old man, tired of being in the spotlight, as regent and a child as de jure head of state. Prime minister Montrarde foresees trouble, as more and more revolutionary and dissatisfied parts of society voice their demands for change.

  • 20: Despite not having defeated the communist insurgents on the northern isles, the government has firmly reestablished control over the mainland. The Blanckenhof Accords centralise power in the cabinet and Staten-Generaal at the expense of the king's power. Salome of Shireroth is asked to ascend the Throne as Staatshouder, some kind of Regent-Queen.
  • 25: Salome is coronated as Staatshouder in a ceremony, equalling the coronation of the Batavian Kings and Queens of the past.

  • 18: The UGB establishes control over Salome Eiland, despite complaints of a Batavian representation. Talks between the two nation breaks down after a proposed trade of the city of Nackholm is leaked to the press, angering the people of Rhijnelande (formerly known as the Bataafsche Vrystaat). A request from the De Withe Cabinet to the Staatshouder to mediate, is left unanswered.

  • 16: Treaty of Frijfort is signed between dignitaries of Batavia, Elwynn and Shireroth. The treaty ensures peaceful cooperation and recognition between the three Benacian powers. Under pressure of the Vinandists within the Lagerhuis, Staatshouder Salome would resign the Throne no later than 01.XV to Hendrik Leopold des Vinandy. A small land transfer was also passed.
