Career
Mackay has served as Prime Minister of Batavia three times. The first time was during the period of Jingdaoese occupation, during which he was an important figure in the movement to preserve the Batavian culture.
His second term as Prime Minister came after unification of St. Anna and Jingdaoese Batavia. A conflict with his successor, Gustaaf Vermeylen, lead him to abandon public life and take on a job as librarian at the University of Davignon.
During the Shirithian annexation of Dietsland, Mackay returned to the forefront of political life, and became the leader of the Free Batavians, a resistance movement that fought for the reinstitution of the Batavian Kingdom and self-determination for the ethnic Batavian people.
Following the Batavian Renaissance, and the establishment of the Sixth Kingdom, Mackay was elected to the Lagerhuis for the Batavian-democratic Union. He initially supported a republican government, but later threw his support behind a restoration of the House of Vinandy. After the coronation of Arkadius IV, Mackay, now an independent, became Prime Minister for the third time. At age 86, he is the oldest serving Prime Minister in Batavian history.
