The Republic of the Sovereign Lanzerwald is an independent country located in the south east of Cibola. The nation is considered to be a successor state to the Republic of Sankt Ludwigshafen, the Republic of the United Cities in the Lanzerwald and the Realm of the Sovereign Lanzerwald. While not formally a successor state to the Craitish Dominion of Zandarijn, the culture of Zandarijn was perpetuated in its southern cities. The republic was established in III.1716 by the Thing of the Lanzerwald, the legislative organ of the Realm of the Sovereign Lanzerwald in a special session following food shortages that were attributed to the ineffective decentralised government.
