Foreign relations of Los Liberados

Los Liberados has both formal and informal diplomatic relations with several nations on Micras. Informal relations are often conducted through the trade network of the Iron Company. Los Liberados is a member of the Batavian Confederation, a free movement zone.

The foreign relations of Los Liberados are conducted by the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who also sits in the government Junta. President Castrigo also has significant powers in the area of foreign relations.

Territorial Integrity

One of the main goals of the Liberadosan foreign affairs policy is to safeguard and expand the territorial integrity of the nation. A breakthrough in this regard was the adoption of the Treaty of the Norfolk Islands, in partnership with the Republic of Thracistan. The treaty established the 100-mile Nautical Protection Zone, to be controlled by a force under the command of the Milicia de Hierro. The treaty also gave Los Liberados the sole right of securing the Estrecho del Medio, a major trade route.

International Cooperation

International cooperation is mainly conducted through trade, and international organisations. Los Liberados is a founding member of the Batavian Confederation, and has been partner in several MTO humanitarian missions.
