The History of the Federation, officially The History of the Federation: Proclamation, New Prosperity, and the New Century, is a book written by Pedro de Armadi in 1720 AN. The book documents in incredible detail the shared history of Nouvelle Alexandrie, starting from the Committee for Alduro-Wechu Integration in 1685 AN, and ending with the Death of King Manco Cápac I in 1718 AN. Aside from the purely historical factual treatises, Armadi blended biographical sources from important people like Vicaquirao Alvarez, Alejandro Campos, and Julio Delgado; as well as socio-economic data from national censuses and statistical bureaus. Historians and authors nationally have claimed it as one of the most complete treatises on the national and regional history of Nouvelle Alexandrie, and also as an innovative work for historiography, through its use of modern methods and historical literature, making it available to the general public.

The book influenced in some parts to the education reforms on public schools, who have since used the book as an important repository of national history. It is also the single most cited book in historiographical research regarding Nouvelle Alexandrie history.

Synopsis

The History of the Federation, Volume I

The History of the Federation, Volume I, subtitled "The Proclamation and Unification of Alduria-Wechua", documents and examines in detail the events leading up and immediately following the Proclamation of Punta Santiago. These include a brief history of the Wechua Spring, the 1685 Aldurian coup d'état, and the Committee for Alduro-Wechu Integration; and the aftermath of the Proclamation, including the recognition of the regions of Santander and Valencia. It was published on 01.I.1720 AN, and was dedicated to close friend and fellow historian Ricardo Palmara.

The History of the Federation, Volume II

The History of the Federation, Volume II, subtitled "The New Prosperity Plan", documents and examines in detail the events following the commencement of the New Prosperity Plan. These include a detailed overview of the execution of the Cárdenas Plan, the Pan-Keltian Highway, and the Pan-Euran Highway; the conquest and colonization of Lyrica, New Luthoria, Isles of Caputia, and Islas de la Libertad; and the cultural programmes Alpha (development of monuments), Charlie (development of national press and literature), Delta (development of expressive arts), and Echo (development of music and cinema). The volume ends in 1693 AN, when Alduria-Wechua was officially renamed to Nouvelle Alexandrie and the first general elections were held. It was published on 01.IV.1720 AN, and was dedicated to President Alejandro Campos.

The History of the Federation, Volume III

The History of the Federation, Volume III, subtitled "The New Century", documents and examines in detail the events following the 1693 elections, up to the Death of King Manco Cápac I in 1718 AN. These include a detailed overview of the development of the Cortes Federales from 1693 AN onwards, following the Presidencies of Augustus Strong, Gerhardt Eugen Seydlitz, Julio Delgado, and Felipe de Almagro. Important events during these times were the Alkhiva Oil Crisis in 1694 AN; Operation Paramount and the Third Euran War; the 1701 eruption of Mount Broadshaw; the Great Vanic Revolt; the 1707 AN Governmental Crisis; the Recession of 1709; the 1715–1716 eruption of Mount Broadshaw; Operation Purple Splendor; and the Condor One Incident in 1718 AN. Contrary to previous volumes, which had their chapters ranked on an event-based title, Volume III used era-based titles roughly based on the tenure of Presidents. It was published on 01.XII.1720 AN, and was dedicated to King Manco Cápac in memoriam.

Important events during these times were the Hurmu civil conflict; the Corsair Wars; theProcurement scandal; Operation Sable Shield; the 1725 Constancian crisis; the Recession of 1726; the discovery of Alexandrium; the Federal National Plans; the Surenid Civil War; the Buccho Affair; the Recession of 1737; the Spring Crisis of 1739; and the Better Deal program.
