The current flag of Kurum Ash-Sharqia was adopted in 1700 AN.

The colors black, white and orange refer to New Batavia, the nation from which Kurum Ash-Sharqia gained its independence in 1699 AN. The green field and the crescent refer to Islam, the nation's main religion.
