The Gerenian League 3 (Gerenian: Leran Žerénies 3) is the third highest football league in Gerenia. It consists on 12 teams, divided geographically into two divisions: Mayfield and New Adarma, since they are the regions in which the nation is subdivided.
Format
During the regular season, teams play only other teams in their own division. In a round, each opponent is played twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 10 matches. Games are scheduled such that in the first 5 matches, every opponent is played once. In the following 5 matches, the same opponents are played in the same order with the only difference being that the venue changes.
Since the 2013–14 season, the regular season will have two rounds.
Promotion and relegation
One team is promoted to the Gerenian League 2, and another one is relegated to its corresponding Provincial League.
The teams finishing first in their divisions in the regular season are entered into a two-legged final for the chance of gaining the sole promotional spot. The winner is promoted to the League 2, while the loser qualify for a promotion-relegation play-off, to be played with the team finishing 7th in the League 2.
On the other hand, the teams finishing last in their divisions play a final, with the winner qualifying for another promotion-relegation play-off with the runner-up of the Gerenian Provincial Leagues, and the loser being relegated to such level.
