Jacob Utherion Lewis is a Blackstone-born Hurmu nobleman who is a scion of the Lewis family from this father's side and from the House of Verion and the House of de Montfort from his mother's side. He has been the Lord of Blackstone since the death of Regina Verion in 1729 and a Senator of Hurmu since 1734. Through his marriage to his great-niece Ioanna ab Rihonna, he became a member of the House of Earion, the ruling house of the Kingdom of Celebarad. He is a first cousin of the slain prince of the Calbain Deiniol. Lawyer Serah Utherion Lewis is his sister. He was elected by the Senate of the Holy Lakes to serve as Secretary of State for Peace in 1746 and as Second Secretary of State in 1751.

Early Life

Jacob Lewis was born the oldest son of Uther Lewis, an Elwynnese-born merchant within the Iron Company. He attended school in Blackstone until age 14, after which he was sent to Wolfraven to study Law and History. He returned at age 17 to be a Captain in the Iron Company and learn the basics of the merchantcraft.

Lord of Blackstone

As prominent scion of the House of Lewis, Jacob was appointed Warden of Port Verion upon his 18th birthday in 1717, a position that had been vacant since the Wardenships were reinstated one year before. He was named the successor of the Lady of Blackstone, Regina Verion, shortly before her passing of old age and assumed the role of Lord of Blackstone in 1729.

Political career in Hurmu

Jacob was appointed Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs in 1734 in the Secretariat of Tsatse Vaykok. Although his Verionist faction was not officially part of the government coalition, Jacob sided with the government on all main issues prior to his appointment. The only Verionist senator for over a decade, he retained his seat in the 1745 election and was appointed by the senate as Secretary of State for Peace in 1746.
