Opyeme Amor
The first ever Oracle to be officially recognized by the Council of Courts, and the first ruler of Passio-Corum to be born in Passas. Opyeme Amor succeeded Queen Esper I as the Crown of Passio-Corum following her abdication in mid-34 PSSC. Amor ruled Passio-Corum from 34 until his assassination in early 35 PSSC.
Early Life
Although it is well established that he was born in in the year 33.74 PSSC to wealthy crop distributors in the city of Zidado West, and that prior to his recognition as Oracle in 34.20 PSSC he had begun to receive an education provided by the New Zimian War League, very little is known about the early life of Opyeme Amor. This is in large part due to the fact that Amor, during his reign as ruler of the Pallisican nation, maintained a veil of strict secrecy regarding his personal life and that of his family, which he justified on the basis of his divine mandate. This veil of secrecy continues to be upheld by the New Zimian Temple Authority and the Houses of Pallisican Chelkra, insofar as both entities have gone to great lengths to prohibit and prevent public access to files relating to Amor's personal life, prior to the beginning of his time as ruler.
Amor was recognized as Oracle by Pallisican religious authorities, and ultimately by Queen Esper I, in 34.20 PSSC after performing an apparent miracle in which he restored the vision of a group of blind Haifan beggars. As such, Amor was recognized as the second of the Oracle Rulers of Passio-Corum, following Queen Esper I. He would not, however, assume the Crown of Passio-Corum until 34.62 PSSC, when Queen Esper I formally abdicated from the throne.
Early Rule
Following his ascension in 34.62 PSSC from the Office of the Oracle - an office which had been created on his behalf - to the Crown of Passio-Corum, Crown Opyeme Amor immediately set about implementing policies aimed at establishing peace in southwestern Keltia following the ratification of the Treaty of Bel-Air, and expanding industry into territories which were incorporated into Passio-Corum as a result of the nation's treaty with Hamland. Amor, during this period, authorized the expansion of operations managed by Carol Stream Oil into the Stars Archipelago of northwestern Eura, the relocation of Seed of the East Agricultural Exports to the Port Trinity Colonies of southern Keltia, and the creation of the East Keltian Timber Company in the city of New Kingsland. It was also during this period that Crown Amor recognized the Bijeko-Lisea-Nas as the national animal of Passio-Corum, and personally confirmed in national media the groundbreaking discovery of the Tarsican Stone Crab.
Mid-Rule
The middle part of the reign of Crown Opyeme Amor is defined by the adoption of the Pallisican Scientific Standard Calendar. Following years of debate within the Houses of Corum and the New Zimian Temple Authority regarding the possible adoption of a new calendar system to replace the Weran-Gherfan system which had originally been proposed by members of the Lewis Dynasty of Hamland, Crown Amor, in 34.81 PSSC successfully lobbied the Pallisican government to adopt a new, unique calendar system which refined and expanded upon the systems originally outlined in the Ab Sectora Condita system of timekeeping. The introduction and adoption by Passio-Corum of the PSSC calendar system, sparked a moderate renewal in global interest in sciences such as astronomy
Late Rule
The rapid economic and political momentum generated during the middle era of the reign of Crown Amor reached an equally sudden halt when, on 40/3/34 PSSC, Amor authorized plans to deploy the New Zimian War League back into Passas, to engage in operations relating to the outbreak of civil war in Hamland. With his deployment of troops in late 34 PSSC to Passas, Amor became the third consecutive Pallisican ruler to deploy the nation's military in foreign conflicts, following Queen Evahn I, who authorized Pallisican participation in the Second Pirate Wars, and Queen Esper I, who led efforts by Passio-Corum to support the Kingdom of Constancia in the Euran War. That said, Pallisican involvement in the Hammish Civil War accelerated very rapidly. Within days of the announcement of the initial deployment of forces to Passas, it was furthermore confirmed that the government of Crown Amor would also support the National Salvation Front, a powerful group of Hammish rebels based in the southern portion of the mainland Commonwealth, opposed to the National Provisional Authority, itself backed by the Shireroth-led Sxiro-Hammish Agricultural Mission. The Council of Courts, following its announcement regarding support for the National Salvation Front, also confirmed that it would establish the Commonwealth Diaspora Fund, a new Regional Investor intended to represent the economic interests of Hammish peoples displaced by the brutality of the war in Hamland.
Finding themselves on opposite sides of the conflict in Hamland, political tensions between the Pallisican nation - led by Opyeme Amor - and Shireroth, reached an all-time high when, on 57/3/34 PSSC, the government of Shireroth announced its intention to form an international coalition aimed at reducing the influence of Passio-Corum in the Sea of Storms. Prompted by this announcement by the government of Shireroth and its subsequent efforts to draw nations such as Natopia and Alexandria into a military coalition against Passio-Corum, Crown Amor immediately reached out to Jingdao, the traditional arch-nemesis of Shireroth, in a diplomatic effort which resulted in the ratification of the Treaty of Voorpost, an international alliance which would also include nations such as Gerenia, Craitland, and Xang Muang. With the ratification of the treaty, and the establishment of the Union of States around the Sovereign Oceans (USSO), Pallisican preeminence in the Sea of Storms was seemingly maintained, and Shirerithian plans to conduct aggressive counter-piracy patrols in the Sea of Storms were seemingly curtailed as attention turned towards a stand-off with Gerenia and Jingdao in the Northern Sea. Nonetheless, the Shirerithian task force dispatched to the Sea of Storms remained on station as a force-in-being and a continuing potential threat.
When, in 35.07 the New Zimian War League led a direct military offensive against the city of New Kirrie, it faced no direct opposition from Shireroth or any of its allies. Natopia, in fact, appeared to be providing indirect support for the Pallisican military in its New Kirrie Campaign, by bombing the air defenses of the National Provisional Authority, which served to prevent them from launching a counter-attack against Passas. It should be noted however that the Natopian effort was mainly geared towards helping the Hammish Republican Army (HRA) and covered the insertion of Shirerithian special forces groups into the Keltian territories of Hamland.
Death
Despite his success in terms of maintaining Pallisican hegemony over the Sea of Storms, Crown Amor began to come under harsh scrutiny, even from within the nation's government, when on 12/1/35 PSSC it was confirmed that the Shirerithian arms manufacturing company, the ESB Group, had established trade relations with the Maritime Markets of the Strait of Haifa, a burgeoning nation of pirates in central Keltia which was famously the epicenter of the Stripping Path, a belief system which had in weeks and months prior found itself at odds with the Pallisican Religion. Recognizing the threat posed to Pallisican trade by this apparent arms deal between Shireroth and Haifan pirates, members of the Houses of Corum immediately began to call on Crown Amor to deploy forces to the region, to stop the flow of arms to entities opposed to New Zimian interests. Despite his initial opposition to these calls, Crown Amor finally gave in to political pressure, and on 23/1/35 authorized the deployment of the forces to the Strait of Haifa. This would prove a miscalculation on the part of Crown Amor, insofar as the decision to deploy forces would be immediately followed by a practical declaration of war by the Priestess of Agripinilla, the defacto figurehead of the Stripping Path, in which the priestess issued a call to arms, calling all Haifan peoples to rise up in opposition to New Zimian aggression against the Haifan homeland. This call was evidently heeded, when on 27/1/35 PSSC, Kan Zen, the Companion of the Crown of Passio-Corum, herself a known, avid practitioner of the Stripping Path, fell into a sudden frenzy, in which she ultimately beat to death Crown Amor as the pair prepared for lunch with Ura Sin, former President of the National Bank. Kan Zen was immediately arrested for assassinating the Pallisican ruler, and imprisoned at City of Lucien National Prison, where she remained in confinement for only a week before escaping in an apparent miracle. The assassination of Crown Amor and subsequent arrest and escape of Kan Zen cast the Pallisican government into an immediate state of chaos, especially to the extent that for the first time in its history, Passio-Corum was now without a formal ruler.
