Each division has a promotion-relegation system, where the best team(s) of a tournament obtain the right to compete in the tournament of a higher level in the following season, as well as the worst team(s) are punished so they compete in the tournament of a lower lever in the following season.

The Gerenian football league system consist on three national divisions (Gerenian League 1, Gerenian League 2, and Gerenian League 3), and a fourth division composed of eight Gerenian Provincial Leagues. Below the League 3, leagues are split between each of the provinces of Gerenia. Only the two highest leagues are professional, while the rest are semi-professional.
